Is |x|/x = 1 ?
1. x> 0 indicates x is positive. x can be any positive number. x can be 1,2,3.14,80,101.555, etc. So clearly the division will result in 1. BCE out.
2. x<1 means x can be 0.15,0,-5,-18.5747,etc.
0/0 is undefined. |-18.5747|/-18.5747;results in =-1. |0.15|/0.15 results in 1. Multiple results. Insufficient. D out.
A is the correct choice.

Question: Does |x|/x equal 1?
|x|/x = 1 for any positive value of x
|x|/x = -1 for any negative value of x
|x|/x = -1 for any negative value of x
Question REPHRASED: is x > 0?
Statement 1: x > 0
SUFFICIENT
Statement 2: x < 1
i.e. x may be positive value between 0 and 1 and also, x may be negative hence
NOT SUFFICIENT
Answer: Option A
Note: Bunuel The question here should mention that x ≠ 0
