In Triangle ABC, point D lies on the side AB between vertices A and B. If CD = CB, is AD > BC?
(1) Angle ADC = 110°
(2) Angle ACD = 30°

In Triangle ABC, point D lies on the side AB between vertices A and B. If CD = CB, is AD > BC?
STAT 1: ∠ADC = 110°
=> ∠CDB = 180° - ∠ADC = 180° - 110° = 70°
Since, DC = CB
=> ∠CDB = ∠CBD = 70°

But we do not know anything else about the other angles or sides
=> NOT SUFFICIENT
STAT 2: ∠ACD = 30°
We do not know anything else about the other angles or sides
=> NOT SUFFICIENT
TOGETHER
∠ACD = 30° and ∠ADC = 110°
=> ∠CAD = 180° - 110° - 30° = 40°

Now, using the property Side Opposite to Greater Angle will be greater in Length in △ADC we can infer that
Side CD (opposite to ∠CAD = 40°) > Side AD (opposite to ∠ACD = 30°)
=> CD > AD
=> BC > AD [ As CD = CB ]
=> SUFFICIENT
So, Answer will be C.
