Hey all! So I just took the GMAT for the first time this morning and got a 640 (39 on both verbal and quantitative). Although I scored ~700 on 3 practice tests, I'm okay with the 640. However, I totally bombed the IR section (2 -- 12%) which is kind of weird because I got 8's on all my practices. I am only applying to state schools - alabama, new york, arizona, so I am wondering if y'all think I need to retake it based on my super low IR score? Also, I have a 3.8 GPA and the first deadline is on January 5th, so if i retake I would have to wait until the second deadline.

Most of the Schools have publicly stated that they do not consider the IR score. So, if you are satisfied with the overall score, go ahead and apply in the first deadline.
There is not need to take the GMAT again.

I wonder if we had similar issues. I just took the gmat this morning and only got a 5 on IR. I had 2 or 3 really strange questions I couldn't wrap my head around. I was scoring 8's on mocks.
