Just finished my 3rd GMAT, unhappy with my 640 (Q45, V33). I really want to apply to NYU/UCLA level schools, but for obvious reasons I'm considering to wait til next year.
Should I even bother applying on the slim chance I get in? I would assume I wouldn't with this weak score. Would want to retake but because of time constraints I don't know if that's possible.
I just don't understand how to get my verbal up. I've gone through classes, books, and even some tutoring but it isn't working out for me.
Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

I don't know much about you and how much would be your chance of getting to your targeted schools.
I think never giving up.
You need to diagnose what is wrong with your understanding. When finding the weak areas, work on them and improve.
All the best with whatever you do.
