Profile Evaluation for Yale

Question

Hi

I want to apply to B schools in US this year for a two year MBA program and I am looking for some insight on my profile . Could someone please help evaluate my profile? I want to understand my chances of admission and also if you think I am too late as I have 8 Yrs of experience. Strategy & Operations is the area of specialization I am looking forward to get into.

Nationality/Gender: Indian/Female
WE: 8 Yrs
GMAT: Yet to complete on Aug 04 2016
GPA: ~3.5 
Degree: B.Tech(Information Technology) 
Experience: 8 years in an IT organisation. Current designated as senior consultant (ERP solutions). I have 2 years of international experience (UK & Germany)
Extracurricular: I am trustee of non-profit organisation, which works for the education of underprivileged children and uneducated female for backward classes. Also , I have lot of other experience in teaching these children myself.

Please evaluate my profile so that I know if I can build up a strong application.

You have great experience and background that will help you develop a competitive application. Therefore, depending on the schools you would like to apply you should get a 700+ on your GMAT for top 20 schools. Your length of work experience is at the upper end of the range but is still not too late. It would be important to show strong leadership and diverse experiences to show the knowledge that you can leverage as an older applicant, and contribute to the class discussions and the school community. Showing focus and clear goals post-MBA is also very important. Relating this to how a Yale MBA fits given your background, goals, and personal motivations would help you put forth a convincing application.

All the best on your coming GMAT. Focus on this as this could be an additional differentiator for your profile if you do better than the average.

Please evaluate me for Yale

Nationality: Indian 
Age: 26
Undergrad: BE Electronics and Telecommunications - 63% (We do not have a GPA/relative scoring system, this score is decently above median) 
GMAT: 730 (Q50 V39).

WE: 1 Year in a Private Equity (PE) advisory and support firm
2 Yrs in a Global Investment Bank
6 months (currently) in a large India focused Growth PE

Volunteer Experience
1 Year of mentoring an underprivileged child, 
1 Year Pro bono tutoring to two underprivileged kids

Extra curricular: Sanskrit Scholar; Yoga practitioner and teacher;

MBA Plans: Short Term - Associate at an Emerging Markets tech focused PE, Long term: Partner at a similar PE
