Hi Friends,

Have anyone of you taken gmat exam at chennai gmac exam and have scored more than 700 ? Please clarify. The reason why I am asking is that lot of my friends ( approx 20 ) had taken gmat at this center recently and got scores which are lower than their average scores in manhattan and GMAT prep tests. None of my friends have scored more than 700 in the actual test despite scoring 750-760 marks in their manhattan and gprep tests. So I was wondering whether everyone is facing this issue and whether there is a problem with this center's gmac software especially w.r.t grading. Requesting people to kindly share their good gmat experience in the recent past at this center as I am thinking whether to book my gmat slot at this center or select some other center.

Thanks,

Hari

I took gmat sep 2 scored 610 . I hoped that i will get more than 700. Even another friend of mine who was scoring 700 and above in mocks got 580.

The interesting thing is both of us got 49 in Quants . It is verbal whre we got low score.

Hi Hari,

I myself took the GMAT at the Chennai Centre (Nelson Manickam Road). I scored 760. I know a friend who scored 720 and another acquanitance who scored 770. So I don't think the scores should change at all based on the location. Incidentally I took my GMAT once 6 years ago in Chennai and scored 700. In both cases, I took the Kaplan tests (about 4-5 tests each time). My actual GMAT score was about 20-30pts more that the average I got in the Kaplan tests. Hope that helps.
