Hey Fidome,

I'd recommend purchasing an enhanced score report to get a better grasp on the areas in verbal that you need the most help in. MGMAT and/or Powerscore CR Bible are great resources for CR. As for RC, check out Stacey Koprince's RC articles on Manhattan's websites. They were extremely helpful in coming up with a strategy to digest and dissect RC passages. Lastly, for SC, check out E-GMAT's SC course. To get the 720+ score you want, you're going to need at least a Q48 V40. I can't comment much on Quant since that was a weak section for myself. I'd say focus on concepts and locking down strategies for different kinds of questions (overlapping sets, solving for insufficiency, etc.). Check out Manhattan Navigator as a supplement to your OG review. I found navigator's explanations for quant to be MUCH better than OG's.

Best of luck!

Considering that I am a Indian male mechanical engineer. Its really hard to get into my favoured colleges with a 650 score on GMAT!
I know I am capable of much more...
I had taken 3 of my cat tests @ 10:00AM, but the last one I gave @ 12:00PM.(My GMAT exam was @ 12:00PM) Ok so here is the full picture, I ddn't book my GMAT exam till two days prior to the test. The problem was gmat test centres were not showing availability on my particular day. And I had to travel for 1hour 30 mins to my test centre just to give the exam. But I ddnt feel tired and I dont think it affected me in any way.

And I gave all the tests in one go, right from AWA to verbal.

I just need a study plan based on which I can focus on and improve my score. I am not going to be satisfied unless I get a score of 720+

I exactly understand the importance of a study plan....its very important to correctly strategize.... See, you can see my debrief as well since i am an indian IT male too...i really understand anything less than 700 is no score....just try and visit this site www.gmat-scholar.com and get your FREE consultation at 070640 00130 and decide for yourself...

HI fidome7,

Since you saw a score drop in BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections from your last CAT to your Official GMAT, the 1.5 hour commute to the Test Center almost certainly DID have an impact on your performance and there were likely other factors (that you are not considering) that did as well.

Test Day is a rather specific 'event', which you CAN prepare for, BUT you to be detail-oriented to make sure that your practice 'matches up' with what you'll face on Test Day. The more your practice deviates from the details of Test Day, the more likely your scores are to be 'off.' From what you described, there are some significant aspects to Test Day that you were not properly preparing for, so you were not ready for them when they occurred. Thus, part of your focus going forward has to include the details that you KNOW are going to be a part of your Official GMAT Test Day.

1) What resources did you use during your studies?
2) Have you thought about when you might retake the GMAT?
