Hi everyone,
I am curios if anyone has lodged a complaint to GMAC about the exam conditions and successfully had a revision of their score. I sat the GMAT today in Houston and was part of the pilot program so chose to do the order Verbal/Quant/IR/AWA. For the first 20 to 30 mins of my Verbal I had people coming in and out of the door less than 2m from my desk and the lady would stop and have loud conversations with all the people as they came in. She was cracking jokes at one point with other exam takers (mostly non GMAT takers). It got to the point where I had to physically turn around, wave my hands at her and give her the most viscous "STFU" I could give without physcialy yelling. And after that it didn't stop. I could still hear her after that. Keep in mind I had headphones on and she was talking from the other side of a wall. This had a huge impact on my concentration and timing.
I got out of the verbal and was furious and made my point clear to the staff at the testing center. for the Quant section I took the extra ear plugs which helped. On my verbal my score turned out to be between 4 -7 below what my regular score would be where as my quant was about in line. I have lodged a formal complaint and hoping that my grade will be scaled up but have no idea what to expect...
If this has happened to anyone before and the have been successful or not I would like to know.
