Hi all,
I took the GMAT back in January of this year and scored a 430, but I'm not sure what my "raw scores" mean. I got Verbal 25/40% and Quant 23/9%, for a total 430/15%, AWA 5.5/80% amd IR 2/12%.. can someone translate?
A few details:
I studied... incorrectly and had a lot going on. Will be taking the test again in exactly 2 months from today.
My school needs a 570 minimum with 46% in both Verbal and Quant... so what raw score would that be?
How hard would it be to get a 600 ish within the 2 months?
I recently took a course with Manhattan Prep, and am studying with their materials now and with OG, albiet with little to no motivation due to anxiety from my previous failure
the gmat scares me!!!

I am not an expert but from what I understand is that there are two ways to look at a score. The raw score vs the scaled score.
The raw score for Quant and Verbal is calucated out of total questions. So there are 37 questions Quant and 41 in verbal. If you got 20 out of 37 questions in Quant that raw score will be convereted to a scaled score of say Q40... The raw score isn't that great for score conversion you want to look at Scaled conversion.
So you got a Q23 and v25 which converts to 430. If you want to get 570 i think you need to get around Q35 and V30.... Good luck with your studies.

Raising a 430 to a 570+ (with the specific improvements that you noted for the Quant and Verbal sections) will likely take at least another 3 months of consistent, guided study - so the goal of accomplishing that feat in 2 months might be too difficult to be considered realistic. What application deadline(s) are you facing? And will hitting that 570 score 'guarantee' you admission to the School or are there other factors that also have to be considered?
