Okay this is a long story, but I could really use some insight....
I took my first GMAT on August 30,2006 and scored a 400! I couldn't believe it, I knew that I wasn't going to do that well, but a 400 was out of control.
Here is my journey. I studied for about 3 weeks. I never knew that this test was going to be like it was. I used only 1 book - Kaplans GMAT 800. My husband is in the military and we were stationed at Fort Sill. We were in the middle of moving from Fort Sill to Fort Rucker. We stopped off in New Orleans where he is from, and after a few days there, he continued on to Fort Rucker. I went back to Pittsburgh to visit family for 6 weeks, and take my GMAT. Needless to say all of our worldly possessions were in New Orleans when.........you got it......Katrina hit. So as I was trying to take the exam and wonder if I would have any belongings left when I returned to New Orleans. Needless to say, I did terribly.
I'm not making excuses as I am gunning for it again. I just feel like it is almost hopeless. I pick up the Kaplan book and I have no idea what the book is talking about. I miss almost all of the Critical Reasoning, do so-so on the Reading Comprehension, and ace the sentence corrections. The math....who knows about that. I can ace the very difficult questions, and miss the easy questions. In my undergrad I aced Calc, Trig, and Stats, but passed with D's in College Alegebra. Go figure.
Any words of advice?
