Setting the context of my journey:
I am an Argentinean engineer based in Buenos Aires, working at a leading management consulting firm for over 3 years. My aspiration has always been to pursue an MBA at a top business school, but I lacked clarity on the right timing. In early 2022, I took the GMAT with only two weeks of preparation, relying on E-GMAT due to its success among colleagues. However, I underestimated the challenge, scoring 620 (Q48, V27), realizing my preparation was inadequate. Recognizing the need for more time, I decided to postpone the GMAT to avoid repeating the same mistake and ensure thorough preparation in the future.

Commitment as a key driver for success:

One year later, in February 2023, my partner and I decided that the timing was ideal to pursue our business school aspirations, prompting me to begin my GMAT preparations once again. This time, I sought the assistance of E-GMAT once again and I approached my prep with a different mindset, filled with conviction and determination. Rather than viewing the GMAT as a mere test, I understood it to be an essential step in the application process, committing myself to excel within the next three months.

My confidence in E-GMAT remained unwavering; my earlier trial had solidified its position as the best platform to tackle this demanding exam. The intuitive and well-structured nature of the platform perfectly catered to my needs. Devoting approximately 20 hours per week for about three months, I witnessed a significant improvement in my score, reaching a commendable 710 (Q49, V39)! Notably, my verbal section saw a remarkable increase of 12 points. Equally encouraging, my partner also experienced a significant improvement of 210 points in her GMAT score (you can read her story by following this link: https://gmatclub.com/reviews/user/meryguastavino).

E-GMAT platform as the key enabler to break de 700 barrier

Acknowledging that commitment alone would not suffice, I recognize the instrumental role played by the structured approach offered by the E-GMAT platform in achieving my success. It would be entirely naive to dismiss the significant impact it had on my ability to surpass the daunting 700-point barrier

Verbal section: This section was my biggest hurdle to overcome, I knew I had to dedicate time to it and that's the reason why I decided to tackle it first:

Sentence correction:

Sentence correction proved to be my most challenging area, with my initial scores placing me in the 32nd percentile. What struck me the most was that I possessed a solid understanding of the topics being tested, yet I lacked a structured approach to consistently tackle each question. However, with the help of E-GMAT's structured approach for sentence correction, everything fell into place, and my performance drastically improved to the 86th percentile.

Critical reasoning:

Upon completing the key modules related to this section, I came to the stark realization that my approach to the questions was deeply flawed. I had been solely relying on reviewing the answer choices and selecting the one that seemed most logical to me. However, through systematic engagement with E-GMAT's content and solution explanations for numerous questions, I uncovered the transformative power of the pre-thinking approach. This newfound understanding propelled my performance to +90th percentile for this section.

Reading comprehension:

In the realm of the verbal section, this particular section proved to be my strong suit. However, I often found myself entangled in the intricacies of passage details, resulting in excessive time consumption for each question. The E-GMAT course proved invaluable in teaching me how to read for meaning and employ seven key reading strategies, revolutionizing my approach. Not only did this lead to a remarkable improvement in my performance, but it also facilitated faster comprehension of the texts, granting me extra time to dedicate to the remaining sections.

Quant section:

Quantitative reasoning was undoubtedly my strong suit in this exam, yet the E-GMAT platform elevated my abilities even further, enabling me to progress from a Q48 to an impressive Q49 in an incredibly efficient manner. The Pace mode provided a targeted approach, allowing me to focus on areas where I was comparatively weaker and rapidly enhance my proficiency in those specific domains.

Sigma X Mocks: Comprehensive Assessment for Accurate Performance Evaluation

The Sigma-X mocks offered by the E-GMAT platform have proven to be an invaluable resource in assessing my performance comprehensively. These mocks not only replicate the structure and complexity level of the actual GMAT questions but also incorporate a computer adaptive approach that perfectly mimics the GMAT experience, providing highly accurate estimates of performance.

To highlight the accuracy of these mocks, it is noteworthy that I achieved a GMAT score of 710, while my average score in the Sigma-X mocks was 706. Even when examining the breakdown between the verbal and quant sections, the results are impressive. In the quant section, I scored a remarkable Q49, with an average quant score of 48.6 in the Sigma-X mocks. Similarly, in the verbal section, I attained a V39, while my average verbal score in the Sigma-X mocks was 37.5.

These statistics demonstrate the remarkable alignment between my performance on the actual GMAT and the outcomes predicted by the Sigma-X mocks, gauging one's readiness for the GMAT exam.

E-GMAT mentorship support and LMP program as a game changer

So far, I 've highlighted that commitment and the incredible E-GMAT platform played a pivotal role. However, the support I received from the E-GMAT mentors, especially Akash, and the Last Mile Push (LMP) program made a significant difference. The LMP program, a part of E-GMAT's offerings, provided personalized guidance that proved to be a game changer for me.

From the moment I had my first call with Akash, I understood the true value of E-GMAT's value proposition. I shared my objectives, time constraints, and the challenges posed by my demanding job and travel schedule. Akash developed a comprehensive plan that seamlessly integrated my GMAT preparation into my busy life. Throughout the journey, he supported me, identified my strengths and weaknesses, and motivated me to keep moving forward. What made his guidance exceptional was his consistent availability and quick responses, even on weekends and with a significant time difference. This might seem like a minor detail, but it was crucial for me. Since I had to dedicate most of my prep time during weekends, losing a day waiting for guidance would have greatly hindered my progress. Thanks to Akash's unwavering commitment, I never faced such setbacks, and I am incredibly grateful for his support.

Furthermore, Akash went above and beyond by thoroughly reviewing my Sigma X mocks. Not only did he provide personalized videos that delved into my mistakes, but he also offered valuable suggestions for corrective actions to ensure I didn't repeat those errors. He guided me in determining the optimal timing for taking my exam, taking into account various factors to maximize my chances of success.

Final thoguths:

In conclusion, the GMAT is a challenging exam, but there are three essential factors that can greatly enhance your journey and ensure successful results:

    1. Maintaining unwavering commitment to your study schedule.
    2. Fully utilizing the resources and strategies provided by E-GMAT's platform and diligently following the GMAT process.
    3. Leveraging the expert support and personalized guidance offered by E-GMAT, including their Last Mile Push (LMP) program, to overcome weaknesses and surpass the 700 barrier.

Undoubtedly, E-GMAT is the ultimate platform to excel in this exam! All the best to GMAT aspirants! :)

Congratulations and all the best for your applications! :)
