Hi zoskybuck,

A 660 is closer to a 700+ score than you probably realize, but you're going to have to eliminate the silly/little mistakes from your work to consistently score at that higher level. Thankfully, you have plenty of time to continue studying and hone your skills. Before I can offer you the specific advice that you're looking for, I'd like to know a bit more about your studies so far:

1) Considering the past 3 months, how much of that time have you actually been studying?
2) What materials have you used during your studies?
3) When you took this CAT, did you take the FULL CAT (with the Essay and IR sections)?

I will actually say like 2 months full time (the time i have spent studying for the GMAT). I have all the Manhattan Strategy Guides and have gone through all of them once (i am currently rereading the Quant Guides again to make sure i fully understand the whole basics because i am sure am yet to understand and retain all the info given there)..As for the CAT i just took,i skipped the Essay section but completed the rest.Thats obviously not good but plan on taking all parts of the CAT in future CATS.Received a 4 in the IR Section and i will admit,i really messed up on that.Time really choked me and i had to guess on the last 3 or 4 questions.I am very sure i will improve on that in the future. Its just that am sure that am not yet at the place i need to be on Quant and also Critical Reasoning which was the worst part for the verbal section.I really need to get my thinking straight on that Critical Reasoning!!!

Hi zoskybuck,

If you skipped the Essay section, then you took a shorter Exam that required less energy and didn't 'test' your focus or endurance in the way that the Official GMAT will. As a result, this score is likely 'inflated.' As such, until you take a new FULL CAT (with the Essay and IR sections), it's not perfectly clear what your current ability level is. You should also plan to take your future CATs at regular intervals (1 FULL CAT every 1-2 weeks or so), so that you can measure your progress and better define the specific areas that you need to work on.
