Best of luck with your mock TBD this weekend and in the real thing in the coming weeks!
A few tips:
-Remember to introduce yourself! Ex - Hi Everyone, excited to meet you all - I'm Jen from Denver, CO and I run a boutique MBA consulting firm. (Quick/simple/inviting)
-Have a few ideas ready to share. Brainstorm at least 3 solutions, it is likely others will have a similar suggestion... be prepared to pivot or build on someone else's idea.
-If someone takes your idea, take it a step further. Ex - I had a similar idea to [name], and thought we could add...
-Take quick notes but don't be distracting. If you want to add on to someone's idea, it elevates the conversation when you use their name.
-What if someone freezes while explaining their idea? If the issue prevented the group from getting key facts or concepts, ask something like - Your feed cut out, what I heard was... did we miss anything?
-What if your connection goes down? Be ready! If you can join with a hard connection to your network, but have your phone ready with the audio call in number - rejoining via audio is an alternative that keeps you in the game versus spending time on your connection issue.
-Beware of time! The interviewers will cut you off! If no one else volunteered to be a timekeeper, you can. Give a 10 and 5 minute warning.
If you have an questions or want to prep with a Wharton Alum, let me know.
