naina168, you have an excellent academic track record and descent extra curricular. With your work profile, you can demonstrate impact and leadership potential. Overall, these things work in your favor for NUS and NTU application. I am little concerned about your GMAT score. Though your GMAT score is above the average GMAT of these schools, it may not be greater than the average GMAT from their INDIAN cohort. I will suggest you to put in a strong application this time and if things don't work out, work on your GMAT score.

PS: Both these schools focus on gender diversity and you could have an advantage if you put in a solid application

Hello chaitanya54

The outline of your profile looks decent for NUS (assuming you score your target GMAT)
Make sure you talk about career progress, achievements at work and in extracurricular more than just a laundry list.
Over and above this you may want to talk about the long term vision of your career and how does NUS tie into it.

Hi Chaitanya,
While b-schools wish to see holistic profiles, your work experience is still the most important to them as its most relevant for MBA. Although you have not mentioned anything much about your work experience here, I would suggest you do a great job explaining it in your essays and resume. Coming from the common IT profile, you should show your career progress and impact at work, and use this to differentiate yourself.
Also, a 720+ GMAT score will help.

Hi chaitanya54,

While your overall profile looks decent, your chances will also depend on the quality of the essays you put forth. In this regard, the career goals become particularly significant and "strategy and operations" sounds way too broad. At the same time, the essays must be truly representative of your strengths and achievements.

To add to the above, we also recommend that you aim for a score a bit above the 700 mark. This will help differentiate your profile.

Should you feel the need for a detailed discussion, feel free to reach out.

Thanks.

All the best! :-)

Hello prashant6923

Some pointers-

1. What are your career goals? This is the most important piece of the puzzle. With 12 years of work ex you will be an outlier in the class and will need to communicate why an MBA is the most logical step in your career at this stage.
2. I'd recommend a retake on the GMAT. In absence of any information on career goals and achievements in extracurricular, one doesn't have much to evaluate, but a 610 is definitely going to be cause for major concern.

You may want to read here on what factors work in a profile and here to add to your research on career goals.

Hello aroraishita02

You seem to have a lot going for you in terms of academics and GMAT.
The work profile belongs to the typical Indian IT (that too Infosys)- not a deal breaker by any means, but what it means is that you must showcase good career progress and talk about your achievements and impact at work through your essays.
The extracurricular activities, though good at a first glance, will need you to bring out your personal contribution and accomplishments here instead of being just a member and putting this forward as a bullet list.
You have a decent shot at NUS as long as you do not mess up the essays/interviews. What would be more interesting to know is why are you targeting NUS specifically?

HI MBAkarma,

Thanks for the reply.Regarding your reply, i would say your reply is polished , rather i am looking for a candid response as going for one year MBA is huge investment for me.

Regarding my career goal, i am looking for top position in a time frame of 5-7 years.

Thanks

Hello prashant6923

You are welcome. If you are looking at a candid feedback, you will have to share candid information too. Unfortunately, the goals that you have mentioned do not tell much. Reach a 'top position' is not a goal. What industry, what function do you wish to work in in the short term/long term. Why can't you reach this goal on your own (especially after 12 years of extensive experience)? Where does an MBA fit in? Where does NUS fit in?
These are important questions to answer. Currently the statement is vague. In absence of this information, most of the feedback that you will get is generic- and that is why I have added that a feedback specific to your profile is to answer these questions and retake the GMAT and improve is by at least 40-50 points.
