Hi Prateek,
Final rounds not being worth it is one of the most common prejudices that exists among B-School applicants.
When schools have definitive rounds for admissions, they make it a point to allocate enough spots for each of these rounds.
Schools encourage applicants to apply whenever they have their strongest application ready. So, in this context, you might be focussing on the wrong question here - Your chances are more dependent on whether or not you have a solid application ready rather than how the competition is going to be in the final rounds ( Competition is always tough for top schools, irrespective of the round that you are applying in)
In case you feel that you can present a strong application by April, you should definitely go ahead and apply.
However, if you feel that you need more time to build your profile you can consider the 2020 intake.
We have worked with a lot of clients that got into schools like HEC, ESSEC, ESCP, EDHEC,WHU,etc for the final rounds and piloted an exclusive program for applicants applying in the later rounds.
