I'm considering learning to play golf as well. I'm just so bad at it. Half the time I can't even hit the ball!

I smashed the clubs and plucked off dirt and grass off the ground few times. I got dirty looks so I never went back.

When I was at driver range, I kept swinging but rather than hitting it high and away, mine went straight and away or high and near....

1) Continue to learn to play golf

Should I learn how to play golf????

Is this a must in the post MBA business world?

Does putt-putt or mini-golf count? :-D

Just the general stuff...

- Learn to cook on a serious budget!
- Read as much for pleasure as possible
- Hit the gym as much as possible

Can't really afford to travel much, I need to conserve money. I'm thinking about staying with my job until the end of June, maybe even July, and moving in August. This will depend on the program, though.

Great thread idea!

I'm here in Australia on a consulting project, so this is basically a six-month working vacation for me. Although right now, I have the pre-MBA/work version of "senioritis!"

So my plans are:

- Hit the gym hard and hopefully lose 20-30 lbs (or 10-15 kilos :-D)
- Meet up with fellow LBSers bsd_lover and others in the region
- Learn how to cook (I'm with Omne on this one!)
- Try to find a local car autocross or public track around here for some driving fun (with my rental car, I guess )
- Find funding for school and apply for scholarships
- Do some traveling around SE and East Asia
- Maybe some reading and brushing up on my native Indian language
- Pray everyday that the GBP continues to slide downward against the USD

aww I'm touched prashok, and catching up with all my future classmates is on top of my list too :)

My list :
- Work to save up as much money as I can (I HATE debt)
- Study some statistics (I can get a waiver on it if I pass an exam)
- Lose these extra kilos ...
- spend time with family that I wont be seeing for a while
- Sell my stuff - esp my car (no point shipping anything to London)
- organise student visa
- do my tax returns
- meet up with all my recommenders / networks in Sydney one time before I go

Its all too boring but its gotta be done :( ...

Since my Peace Corps service ends in May, I really dont know what on earth to do in the 3 months in between. Part of me wants to head back to Boston or DC since I still have a lot of friends there who I won't be able to see much once Bschool starts. Part of me wants to get a summer job since eating pasta, chicken and tortillas every day for 2 years has gotten a bit stale, and I dont want to downgrade to ramen noodles. And part of me thinks I'm crazy if I head anywhere besides the beach.

But for the love of dios people, don't kill yourself trying to get a leg up on studying for your classes, you're going to receiving a top-notch education that is specifically designed for people with different backgrounds, those things will take care of themselves. If you've absolutely GOT to do something constructive, read a few good books or head to a city you haven't visited before, I guarantee such things will let you help out more in a class/group discussion than some old textbook or paper.

PS add me to the ROFLing at the 'not get pregnant' guild. +1
