As Google has grown and now matured into a large tech company with an $800B market cap, their need for MBAs have increased as well. When I was an MBA intern there and a full-time employee, the most common MBA jobs I came across were (in no particular order):
Product Manager
Product Marketing Manager
Strategy
Program Manager (both technical and non-technical)
Finance
People Operations
Sales
gTech (Operations)
Partnerships
Several of my MBA classmates who went to Google did have engineering backgrounds, but not all. It's great if you have one, but depending on your role, it's not absolutely required, though you should be familiar with tech and relatively tech savvy.

Anybody done research on Google? I wonder how many MBA's they hire and what sort of roles they are hired for. I imagine there are the standard industry finance roles, but maybe some internal consulting too?
