It really depends on your personal ability.

Most people who study over months generally are working/have families so they prefer to spread it out and do it like a marathon

But if you have the opportunity to take a month off and just focus on the exam that can be helpful, provided you can remember everything you learn. It will depend on your prior comfort level with quant/verbal

saw multiple times around the forum that it's advised to take at least 3 months to prepare for the GMAT if you aim for a 700+ score.
However, I've rarely seen talking about HOURS... Why?
I mean, talking about months is almost futile.
So the question here could be, How many hours of focused study are needed to achieve a 700+ score and a 100points increase?

Hi Nik11,

3 months is just an average. A few people have scored 700+ without 3 months of preparation and a few took a lot more than 3 months to get there. So, it all comes down to individual effort and the way one prepares. Doing the prep in the right way is the key to scoring well on GMAT. And a person who can spend just 3 hours a day for studies cannot have the same study plan as a person who can spend 6 hours a day. So, a personalized study plan which suits your requirements is what you should follow.

Hope this answers your query. All the best for your prep.
