I took the VC job. Its just too unique of an opportunity to pass up. (That I misheard the salary anyway, its actually substantially higher than I'd understood lol). So thats it boys -- close another chapter on the Rhyme Train Of Madness And Total Destruction(TM)!!

From 640 gmat and 40th percentile in math.... to a 700+ gmat... to the Chicago GSB... to VC.... whats next?

Tune in to find out!

The "I wanna be like Mike" song came on in my head.

I would like to be in your shoes. :-D

congrats rhyme on breaking into VC! Just had a talk with a bunch of Haas alums and students and they were saying how VCs are a toughie. Of course, with your GSB credentials, it should be easier

Anyway, you'll have to be our consultant for VCs next year, hahahaha :P

I totally agree with kryzak. It will be nice to have someone on the boards to help those of us (me included) that are really interested in getting into VC. Maybe we can learn a few tricks from you :)

I was having a good laugh the other day with some people about how next year I'm bound to have to come up with a better story than "I got lucky" to the question I expect I'm going to get a lot "How do you get into VC?"

I'm excited.

You should be excited! It should be a fun summer for you.

I talked with a few VC guys last night at a Haas alum event (500 attendees, alums and students). Sounds like bouncing between VC and Startups every few years is the way to get "street cred" in the VC world.
