a: the combine total of the annyual salaries of jim and julia is 50,000

b: if jim were to receive a 10% increase in annual salary and julia a 12% increase,then combined annual salaries wouldbe 55,600

X+Y=50000
X *0.10+Y*0.12= 55,600
solve to get X and Y

No worries. These days every Q has some sort of trap built in. I solved this to arrive at C and was looking at equations to see if both of them are the same.
