Concerning statement 2: We can't take the square root of a negative number, so there is only one number left which is x = 81 --> Sufficient?
Where is my error?

Yes, you cannot have square root of a negative number but here we are discussing on squares.

It can be \(81^2\) or \((-81)^2\), which is what the solution to statement 2 is. It of course cannot be \(\sqrt{-81}\). Here we are taking square root of positive number 6561
