1. y=14
we have no idea about x
Not sufficient

2. x^2 + 3y=18
Multiplying equation by 2 , we get
2*x^2 + 6y = 36
Sufficient

6y + 2*x^2? here, we need the value of two variables x&y.

1) this gives value of only one variable which is y. so insuffiecient because we need x as well.

2) x^2 + 3y = 18, this equation has both x & y in it. Multiplying the equation by 2 on both the sides makes the equation exactly in a format of the value we require i.e.
2*(x^2 + 3y = 18) = 18*2
2*x^2 + 6y = 36 --- sufficient.
So "B" is the correct answer.

2x^2+6y=?; taking 2 common=>2(X^2+3Y)=?

1. Y is given but we can answer as we dont know value of x. Insufficient.
2. X^2+3Y =given, so we now the answer of the term as 36. Sufficient.

Hence Answer is B.

likely ans is c.. but since c is too trivial, we look at a/b.

we have to find the value of 6\(y\) + 2\(x^2\)
Statement 1 gives us \(y\) = 14
we don't have any information on \(x\) so insufficient
Statement 2 gives us \(x^2\) + 3\(y\) = 18
multiply by 2 we get 2\(x^2\) + 6\(y\) = 36 so sufficient
correct answer -\(B\)
