d is the exterior angle of this triangle. It must be the sum of 2 distant interior angles.

So, d = a + b.

Statement 1: Clearly sufficient. a + b = 110.

Statement 2: b = 30, but we don't know the other 2 or the value of a. NOT sufficient.
