Distance of x from 4 is 2, so x can be 4+2 or 4-2.. x=6 or x=2.
Opening the Mod
x-4=2....x=6
4-x=2....x=2
Insufficient
2) |2-x|=4
Mod is always positive and |x-2|=|2-x|=4
Sufficient

What is the value of |x - 2|?
Stat1: |x - 4| = 2; if x>4 then, x - 4 = 2 and x = 6; if x>4 then, -(x - 4) = 2 and x = 2. But, |x - 2| will have different values for x = 6 or 2. Not sufficient
Stat2: |2 - x| = 4 or, |x -2| = 4 (Mod is always positive). Sufficient
So, I think B.
