Question stem: \(\frac{x}{yz}=?\)

St1:- \(|x|=yz\)
We have two cases, x=yz when x>0 and -x=yz when x<0.
So, \(\frac{x}{yz}\) has values 1 and -1.
Insufficient.

St2:- \(x=y\)
Since there is no restrictions on 'z', hence the expression \(\frac{x}{yz}\) has many values.
Insufficient.

Combining, we have same cases of z as we have in st1.
Hence, insufficient.

SOLVE USING LOGIC AND NO PAPERWORK


We have to find the value of x/yz . . . . . where x,y and z are integers.
No other info is given let's move to statements.

1. |x| = yz
It tells us that the product of y and z is positive as |x| will always be positive.
For y and z to be positive they must have the same signs.
Great till now, but hey we are not given values of any integers.
INSUFFICIENT.

2. x=y
It tells us that the value and sign of x and y are same.
No info regarding z, clearly INSUFFICIENT.

COMBINE & TEST
Still no info regarding the value of z. Furthermore, we must understand that the values and signs of x and y are no longer needed.
WE NEED VALUE AND SIGN OF z.
INSUFFICIENT.
