I think that LinkedIn is defnitely a beneficial social/professional networking resource! Not only can you come across numerous opportunities and connections on here, but I have been asked by employers for my LinkedIn information during the interview process. Just remember to not use it like Facebook - keep it strictly professional!

I was contacted by a headhunter who found me on Linkedin. I am in Latam, the headhunter in London, after a few phone conversations i decided that the opportunity wasn't for me.
Headhunters love linkedin. So make sure to use keyword in your profile so that they can easily find you when they do a search.

i've found it to be a good way to keep track of those you haven't spoken to in a long time, but not great for much else. i've had recruiters contact me about positions with little relevance to my current position.
