They say there is a point where rich people, no matter how much money they have, more or less lead the same lifestyle. A book said $50MM is that magic number - no difference in lifestyle with someone who is a billionaire (sure, you won't have a jet, a Monet in a Swiss Account and a seat in the Soyus, but you're essentially experiencing the same daily lifestyle).

As for me, I'm good with $10MM, which is coincidentally what the US census considers as the rich demographic (I think, not sure, read it in Time some time ago). As long as I have a nice house (not even a mansion!) in a nice neighborhood, at least one car and resources to travel, I'd be good - but if I'd get the chance to make that $50MM - I wouldn't pass the offer. :p

Hi, I want to live in a place that has consistent heating because I really like my bacon cooked well. i get upset stomache if i eat bacon cooked rare and it does not make conducive environment for me to study for the gmat because i have to use the restroom during the CAT, which has no time stopper. I have given the two GMAT CAT exams 11 tries and finished only once

Change the PC for a laptop so you can take it with you to the restroom ;-)

I live a simple life and my family has a simple needs and wants but my heart is too big that I want to help many people. I think $5M is a good amount for my family, send three kids to a good school. Most of my earnings and passive income then would be to help the poorest of the poor and send out of school youth to schools.

here's a good benchmark for what constitutes "enough"

"A NetJets pilot recalls flying a passenger from Denver to L.A. for a haircut, and then returning him to Denver. The passenger was a poodle. The flights cost $32,000. "

- enough $$$ that your dog flies private

When I can take care of my folks, maybe send a few kids through school, and live comfortably, that will be enough for me.

This has to be THE most WTF awesome reply to a thread titled "When is enough money, enough?" in the history of the universe. I wish I could give you +10.

That was some real Big Lebowski stuff there.

lol you know life can get tough and cold (pun definitely intended) so that is why i'm striving for a top MBA lol

but you know, this is a catch-22: no heating -> no healthy bacon -> no good gmat score -> no top MBA -> no heating. on a scale of complexity from 1 through 10, 10 being the chicken-and-egg dilemma and 1 being sarah palin, i would rate this phenomenon a solid 10 (e.g. not like a 9.5 rounded up lol)

i think enough money to have a great living and family time. If you make millions with no family life (like Click/Family man) then it is sad and pointless.

I regularly since I was a kid had a figure that was my goal ... but earlier every 5 years or so that figure changed considering the Inflation and technology... So for now I am wondering whether it ever makes setting your eye on a Figure ??
