When To Set Up Scratch Paper On Test Day Using The MPREP Technique????  [#permalink]

I will be taking the actual GMAT exam for the first time in the next month. At this point I am consistently scoring +/- 20 points of my "target" score on the MGMAT CATS.

My question is in regards to setting up my scratch paper (for the Quant, Verbal, and IR sections) using the "Manhattan Prep" method. I have been using this time management technique during my CAT's and it has really kept me on track.

It usually takes me about 1-1.5 minutes to set up my scratch paper for each section.

I would really like to use this technique during the actual exam. I plan on taking the exam in the following order: Quant, Verbal, IR, AWA.

I was wondering if there is any time before each section that you have to set up your scratch paper without eating up your valuable test time? (As I receive a new pad with each new section during the exam, I will need about a minute to properly set it up)

I have found conflicting information online.

Some stay there is a 1-minute (timed) tutorial before each section.
Can anyone confirm this?
Is there one of these 1-minute totals before each section?
If so, is there a 1-minute countdown timer displayed on the screen?
Is it within policy to write on your scratch paper during these tutorials?

Before the first section, you have the opportunity to fill in the schools you would like your scores sent to.
Is this screen timed and if so, how long do you have to complete this screen?
Would it be within policy to set up my "quant timing" on my scratch pad during this screen?

I have read of some people claiming that if you come back into the testing room a little early from your 8-minute breaks, you have the ability to set up your scratch paper for the Verbal and IR sections in the remaining time before the 8-minute timer counts down to zero. Can anyone confirm if this is true or false?
Is it against policy to write on your scratch paper during this time before the next section starts?

Thank you for the insight!!

I'm hoping to work out a game-plan in order to find time to set up my scratch paper with each new pad I receive before each section without taking up precious test time.

There will be a timed (1 minute) screen before each section. You can set your noteboard up during this time. You'll not be able to do so during the break. That's because as soon as you get back in the testing room, irrespective of how early you returned, the proctor will start your test again. That is, no portion of your break may be taken inside the testing room.
