Earlier the better in my opinion. Either way you should start listing out your life/professtion/school accomplishments and really digging into your past present and future goals. The longer your brain is thinking about them, the better they will end up being. Some schools have even released the essay questions. I would always advise that earlier is better.

Also, many of our admissions consultants and companies around the web have started to release tips for the essays, so do a search for your desired schools and see what you can find!

Good luck

Totally second GMATLA's opinion..the earlier the better!

While writing my essays, I felt that I got through almost 80% of any essay real quick. It was the remaining 20%, the fine-tuning, checking word connotations, word counts, styling etc. that took the most time..All this streamlining work becomes all the more difficult when you are stressed out with other essays & apps..

Start writing soon and you'll thank yourself later.. :)

I agree with all of you.

Essay writing is a time consuming process, so you should start right away in order for you to have plenty of time to go through all the stages of writing : brainstorming, writing, revising, editing and above all fitting it all in within the allowed word limit.
Good luck. :)

Good luck ss87! I am in a similar boat, but my brainstorming isn't done yet. I didn't hit my mark for the gmat so I am powering through the next 8 weeks and studying my butt off. In addition I am working on the app process. But if you're done with gmat and brainstorming is done, then get the ball rolling! Good luck.

I'm thinking on taking a vacation on September, so I have less time the usual person applying to MBA. I already started the essays writing.
You should start now. You can't do it "too early"...

Yeah I've already started writing my essays for this year. I have some vacation in August and travel for work the entire month of September so I'm trying to get things done as early as possible.
