I envision living at home after i graduate, which would be on Long Island, NY. I am eliminating Baruch from the equation after spending some time there, speaking with their staff, and going to advising meetings. They seem to run their school like a factory (like a city school), classes are closed, there is little help and very little structure.

The rankings on businessweek came out on monday and has rochester as #3 program for accounting in the country, wm #26 and Baruch's not there.

I'm not sure about the ranking on business week. According to the Public Accounting Report ranking for graduate programs, Baruch is #18 and W&M is #23 while Rochester is not ranked. Here is the entire ranking I found from marshall.usc.edu/assets/128/21997.pdf:

Public Accounting Report
28th Annual Professor’s Survey — 2009
Top 25 Graduate Programs-
Group I Category
2009
Rank School
1 University of Texas-Austin
2 University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign
3 Brigham Young University
4 University of Southern California
5 University of Michigan
6 University of Notre Dame
7 Michigan State University
8 Texas A&M University
8 University of Georgia
8 Indiana University Bloomington
8 Ohio State University
12 University of Washington
13 University of Virginia
14 University of Wisconsin-Madison
15 Arizona State University
16 University of Mississippi
17 University of Missouri-Columbia
18 Baruch College-The City University of New York
19 Miami University (Ohio)
20 Virginia Tech
21 Florida State University
22 University of Alabama
23 College of William & Mary
24 Northern Illinois University
25 Boston College

Don't you have any other schools near Long Island besides Baruch? I'm not sure if W&M carry well in NY and I'm sure NY firms do not recruit at W&M. Have you visit Rochester?

If you just look at the accounting specialty, it's there. Yes, I visited Rochester already and I am going to look at WM later this month. Baruch was very disorganized when I checked it out. The classes were already filled for next semester and they were having trouble adding seats. Also, the people speaking didn't seem to know anything about the program
