I'm looking for consultant to help me revise and polish my essay. Preferably who have some experiences with MIT and HBS. Any recommendations?

as far as I remember, admissions411 has ratings of various admissions consulting firms posted by users. Those might help you in your decision-making process.

They are all pretty expensive...some are insane for what they want for each application.

I came across https://www.admissionsconsultants.com. There prices are same as other popular consultants. They do have a former HBS director of admissions on board.

There is a thread on BW that exposes these guys as fraudsters.

I am using Clear Admit. Honestly can't say enough good things about them. My consultant, Graham, is a wonderful editor and has given me some very sage advice on strategy. I am a non-traditional applicant and just wasn't sure how best to present myself. That being said, there are plenty of people on this site who don't use any consultants at all, and do very well for themselves. And Lord, yes, it IS expensive...

This is not completely related, but did anyone read the recent article about Michelle Hernandez in Bweek? Apparently, she has a ridiculous rate of getting kids from high school into Ivy league or Ivy league level colleges (95-100% every year). She charges up to $40k and starts as early as 9th grade.

Talk about expensive!

Holy mackerel! Is getting into college that competitive these days?! Don't get me wrong, I'm all for being the best that you can be, but that seems like an awful lot of pressure to put on a 14-15-year old. "Hey, buddy, glad your voice finally started to change! Now sit down here and let's do some serious thinking about you need to position yourself for the rest of your life..."

Not only that, I'm sure this consultant steers you into what classes and activities to do. So you basically have someone telling your child what to do and what not to do.

I think this is much different than the consultants we are talking about however. Most of the individual development and "life resume" is completed (besides the GMAT), so there is only so much an MBA consultant can do to improve your profile (essay revisions, interview prep, etc.).

I would agree, definitely. That's exactly what I'm using mine for. Figure I will do one full application with him, and do the rest myself. While the different apps do have different essays/questions, in the end they are all asking the same kinds of things, just with alternate spin. Who are you, what have you been up to, what do you want to do, why do you want to do it here, what do you want to do next?? A bit of a generalization, but...

If you're looking at a top7 B-School, check out https://www.hbsguru.com. Sandy Kreisberg is very well known in the industry, and is often quoted in publications such as BusinessWeek.

His site looks kinda goofy, but that's just his personality.

He knows how to constructively tear apart an admissions essay and is willing to be very blunt about it, too. I'm going to consider giving his services a go in a couple years when I decide to apply to B-Schools.

Started looking for admission consultants few weeks back and phew! I never expected the prices would be so high!
Thanks to all the articles on GMATClub and a few written by some MBA admission consultants themselves I have narrowed down what to look for, but am far from finalizing one.

I really want to zero on one by the end of May so that there is ample time to work for R1.

Any suggestions for MBA consultants in Delhi?
