Hi,
I have 5 years of work experience in direct sales nd team handling.
And I have been thinking about getting further education from either Canada or Australia. I am not sure which course would be the best for me, can someone please help me out here

With 5 years of Experience you are more than eligible for an MBA but it you would rather prefer getting a specialized masters then there are plenty of options as well. Also which schools you should target does depend on your GMAT scores to a certain extent.
Students' Average GMAT Score for MBA Programas
Rotman -673
Ivey -656
Queen's -650
HEC Montréal-638

If you want to get into senior or mid level management an MBA would bolster your chances of getting there. In that case A 2-year program may fit your aspirations better than a one year program will. Now coming to selection of school, the best approach would be to find out if there's something that you would particularly want to focus on, such as luxury management( in which case HEC or ESSEC would be fantastic options). You mentioned Canada, so you should be aware if the place has a french influence in which case language does become a barrier. My suggestion would be to make a list of schools that are known for the specialization that you are looking for and then using gmatclub and linkedin to connect with alums to get a clear idea about the programs.

I personally prefer Canada. I have read a lot of two thing in Australia. First issue is that many companies do no value MBA as it is the same in other countries. Second, the internationals face difficulty in getting work permit. So, it makes hard to get a job. There are people who managed to get a job but, in my view, Canada is better. In a world of uncertainty, I always advise to contact current students in both programs in your chosen schools in both countries. Try to get live feedback. it is worth doing so.

Good luck

I agree with Mo2men - Australia seems a bad place for an MBA. The local companies seem to favor local work experience more so than a degree with foreign WE and the PR card is a pain to get. Unless Australia changes its stance on immigration and post-MBA visa options (which is unlikely), I would look at Canada instead.

P.S. In terms of work permit and immigration, Canada seems the best place of all of them - better than the US or Europe/UK.
