Hey
jjsingh7,
Congratulations on your admit from both Sauder and Schulich! 🤩
I have applied to some of the Canadian B-Schools, including Schulich. So, before doing that I did a lot of research on the Canadian job market. And I feel it is very limited. Major cities are Vancouver, Toronto, Edmonton and Montreal. (Vancouver and Toronto are like Bangalore, Mumbai of Canada
)
Well, Schulich ranks in Top 5 and Sauder in Top 10 but I think that it should ultimately depend on what you want to do post-MBA and which B-school is providing that path. I saw you wrote consulting, PM future based roles.
Sauder has a Product Management career track, and many of the alumni are working in that field. On having a chat with one of the current students, I learned that the program is a bit intense in terms of pace.
On the other hand, Schulich has good recruiting in Finance and Consulting. And the program is very flexible. One of the alumni told me that when his summer internship got extended by one month, Schulich helped him adjust his class schedule. In one of the webinars, I did ask Schulich adcoms about PM recruiting, but the answer was not satisfying😅 However, Toronto is a MAJOR business hub. All the product and consulting companies have their HQ there. So that is an advantage.
If we consider fees and living costs, Sauder will be less than Schulich, but not that major difference. One of Sauder's current students told me that you would not get time to do part-time jobs. And that was a bit demotivating for me
Anyways, I hope it helps BUT I must say this is a tough one to decide!
BTW are you waiting for other admits too?
Thanks,
Romil
