Hi everyone, got admits to the London Business School (LBS) and Cambridge Judge (CJBS)' MBA programs. Having trouble deciding between the two, because although LBS is the "better" program, the price difference is substantial. I plan to do VC or maybe PE in Asia post-MBA. I'm also considering the overall experience of the MBA program - which will likely be more fun. Thoughts?
Congrats!
There are a lot of folks from Asia applying for the LBS but most recruit in London, Europe, and Dubai. If you are planning to head back Asia, the choice is probably less critical from the recruiting perspective. It is all about the network and that one person who will lead you to a job. That person may be at either program. You need just one.
There is definitely value in prestige and in exclusivity, classmate caliber, program name, and access to alums and networks. (funny enough, someone just the other day got LBS admit but WL at Judge :

You can do a simple LinkedIn search and check how much of a reach each program has in target companies for you. There may be a significant difference but likely not so much and you amy find that neither school is represented. At the same time it is tough to quantify the value of these nebulous benefits of better classmates, reputation, and more competitive program.
At the same time, one thing has always been true - you will have to work to recruit, to secure an internship, and you will have to compete for the best jobs
p.s.
It would be helpful if you could remind us the cost difference between the 2 programs (sorry, a bit lazy to pull the latest numbers).
