Which Book to Buy

Question

As say in the title, I am looking to buy a book to train for the GMAT, and I saw different books, but I don't know which one to buy. Is it possible to have any help/feedback on that? If you have the link to which book you talk about would be perfect.

For most students, a single book isn't the most effective way to prepare for the GMAT Focus. The exam covers a lot of ground across Quant, Verbal, and Data Insights, and a book can't isolate topics for you, track your accuracy as you work, or allow you to interact with Table Analysis and Multi-Source Reasoning Data Insights questions.

What works better is a clear, comprehensive, structured course that teaches one topic at a time, lets you practice each topic until your accuracy is consistently high, and shows you exactly where you're improving and where you're still weak. If you're just starting out, I'd skip building a stack of books and look for that kind of structured resource instead. Take a free official practice test at mba.com first so you know how far you are from your goal, then build your prep around mastering the content topic by topic.

I see that people are suggesting that you get the OGs. And they are absolutely right. But keep in mind that the OGs are strictly a resource for practice questions. They won't really teach you any concepts or strategy. So you'll need some third party resources to work on your concepts, before you start attempting questions from the OG. Manhattan is certainly very good. If you want something specifically for verbal, drop me a DM and I'll share copies of the CR and RC grail books with you. I'm sure you'll find them very useful.
