A. 61 Digit sum = 7 i.e. 2 short of 9 or 7 excess i.e. remainder = 7

C. 106 Digit sum = 7 i.e. 2 short of 9 or 7 excess i.e. remainder = 7

Solution:

134/9 = 14 remainder 8

Alternate Solution:

Let’s subtract 7 from each answer choice. The amended answer choice that is not evenly divisible by 9 is the correct answer.

The amended answer choices are 54, 81, 99, 108, and 127. All of these are evenly divisible by 9 except 127; thus, choice E (127 + 7 = 134) is the correct answer.
