I asked myself the same question when I first started studying. Then it got better after I focused on the basics and fundamentals and doing a lot of practice questions. Hang in there. It will get better.

Thanks for the comments guys. I'll take a look at the MGMAT Number properties book as well (currently using GMAT Hacks Math Bible). I agree with the comment that fundamentals (just more difficult versions of them) are getting me. I'll let you know how it goes this time!

bit of critical view on my prep tells me most questions that I'm getting wrong are due to bad assumption or going above and beyond whats being asked in the challenge...which really translates more the the focus, concentration and discpline...! offcourse this is baselined with the fact everyone including me have average math skills...!
