My point of view is different. I would suggest start with 4RCs. If you can do 4RCs within 35-40min with good accuracy then you can prepare anything you want whether it be Quants, SC or CR. If one takes more than 40min on 4RCs with poor accuracy then nothing can help save one's overall score.

I call it GMAT general eligibility test. go for it.

What is most common is not always right for each person. I would recommend starting working on both from the start but rather, focusing on whichever your weaker topic is. Your studies should not be based on a formula but what works best for you. If you have any other specific questions please feel free to ask.
