Are there people in this age bracket and work ex at top US Bschools/European Bschools?

Might be worth checking the websites of the some of the schools you're interested in. Class profile data such as age and work experience may be there that could provide some insight. You could also try calling the schools directly to ask any specific queries you may have.

I have just started preparing for GMAT, I am 31. I am targeting fall of 2025 batch which basically means, I will be 33 by then with a work ex of 8 years. I have already done by masters and bachelors and was hoping to change my workstream from Consulting to PE/IB which I am finding challenging right now. Are there people in this age bracket and work ex at top US Bschools/European Bschools?
@amangarg_14 - a few thoughts, in addition to the above:

1. You aren't too old for an MBA. European B-schools are generally more open to experienced candidates (with upto 10-12 years work-ex) than the US counterparts. For the average age/ work-ex at top (US & European) MBA programs you could check here.

2. Having noted the above, the quality of your work-ex, and narrative (i.e. why MBA, why now, post MBA goals: why PE/ IB, research on schools etc.) would play a crucial factor in your overall application and outcome.

3. Transitioning to PE/ IB is a bit tricky for experienced candidates, as these sectors tend to hire younger chaps right out of MBA due to their "coachability", and frankly, because they perceive they'd be able to put in the demanding hours. Your consulting experience could help, especially if it involves some exposure to the financial sector, which can present transferable skills. Longer programs (i.e. > 1 year) with internship opportunities can also facilitate the transition better.

4. You might be interested in this article which covers various aspects (including top MBA programs) for candidates above age 30, and this article covering top B-schools for a career in Finance.

Hope this helps a bit. Feel free to reach out for a deeper chat.

Arvind
