School Selection and Candidacy Evaluation - I will help the client pick the appropriate MBA programs to apply to. By appropriate I mean programs that make sense for the client’s background and strengths. Sometimes the client “knows” what schools they want to apply to. Letters of Recommendation - I provide guidance on how to write letters of rec. I describe what elements a recommender will need to address is an appropriate recommendation. I also discuss who to approach, how and with what documentation. A lot of good recommendations are ruined by a recommender who does not know what to write or have time to write. 6. Review of Final Submission Package - I will review your final submission package in the final days before you submit to the school. This makes sure that all parts of the application are consistent. This is, in effect, making sure all the t's are crossed and the i's dotted. The potential to drop the ball here is huge. What may seem like a trivial application question can be a test in consistency across all parts of the application. 7. School Interaction Guidance - I will help the client schedule visits and interaction with the school. This includes information sessions, specific class visits, interaction with alumni. This gets the client's name out there and in the minds of the Admissions Committee members. They can then put the application with the name when it comes to decision time. 8. Mock Interview - I was an admission interviewer. I will conduct a mock interview with the client, provide coaching on the questions and then provide general feedback on the client's presence. 9. Gurpreet: This is entirely up to you. If you have already taken a course of some sort, I'd say decline the prize and wait for better ones. But if not, consider the positive outcomes that you might have by accepting this and weigh them against the risks associated with not getting another prize (which will probably not be the case, but still)

I declined my consulting diagnostic because I want an iPad. But if I get the consulting package, I'd be in a similar fix. On one hand, I don't want to use a consultant but on the other hand, a consulting package might be awesome. No idea.

See you in class mads!! I just accepted the 8th prize as well. I was due to write my exam next week but haven't broken the 700 barrier in my practice tests yet so figured it was better to take the prize and push my exam out by a couple of months.

Now the BIG question is can I make progress on my apps while I prepare for the GMAT? I really don't want to wait another year so hoping to put all my eggs into the R2 basket!!

Actually it is around 9 or 10 am pacific, but I say midnight for official rules - so you are safe. You have around 20-22 hrs to make a decision/pull the trigger.
