Hi All

I'd given my GRE at home and had scored a 330 (169Q,161V). I was very happy with my score and after multiple discussions with a few consultants, I was suggested to apply next year due to less work ex. Now, I'm hearing some rumours about the integrity of the at home exam and am very scared if the universities make a provision of not accepting my scores next year (they won't know that I'd taken the at home exam but will be sure that I've taken it during the pandemic). Also, is there a possibility that the universities completely waive-off the GRE/GMAT exam requirements going forward? I'm looking for inputs concerning the top 20 MBA programs in the US. I would greatly appreciate any help/views of the club members.

Hi apoorv1031,

To start, a 330 is an outstanding GRE Score, so you can comfortably apply to any Programs that interest you. At this point, Schools all seem fine with the concept of the At-home Exam - and no School or Program has voiced any major concerns about comparing that Score to a traditional result from a Test Facility. There's no way to know if that perspective might change in the future though. All things considered, if you apply in the future and you are a strong overall applicant who took the At-home GRE (and scored well on it - which you have), then I would assume that a School would not "look down" on your application because of that.

I see no point in discussing rumors and therefore creating more rumors with false claims. Nobody knows.

But I do know a good spellcaster who can read your palm and for $10,000 she’ll give you the exact answer 😂

To post an update, GMAC has made GMAT online a permanent product. This should put the final nail on the coffin of the rumors and speculation that the online test may not be accepted or used in the future. There were no reasons to believe this in December and there are even fewer reasons to speculate about this now.

I hope this update closes the worry chapter.
