Hi
ConnieM,
First of all I think you need to clarify more what a Diplomat Certification is.
If this certificate shows that you have been in a competitive pool to get selected and this certification has reputation in your country than by no mean this can hurt your chances for MBA. You just have to explain to adcom in your application that how does MBA fits after this and Why you want to do an MBA after this.
As long as you add a star to your profile it is going to benefit you. Now here comes the tricky part: Why this certificate? what will be the learning? will it help you in your future along with MBA? Is this certificate really requires for your Post MBA goals? few more questions like these you have to ask yourself.
All the best.

Hello everyone!
I have the chance to get a Diplomat Certification at the top universities in my country, which are basically a one-year program of the subject you choose, usually in a specific subject like Digital Marketing, Data Analytics or Financial Markets & Investments.
At the beginning I thought it would be beneficial to get into the program as it would demonstrate that I can already excel at a top university (since I got my undergrad at a very good but not very known university), but I was wondering if I would incur into the same problem some PhD postgrads have when applying to an MBA (but of course, not with the same impact)
I don't want to do anything that would hurt my chances to get into an MBA.
Thank you in advance!
