Hello Bunuel, below two signs in "Rules of posting" are displaying same formulas.

Could you please replace "\leg" with "\geq" for greater than or equal to sign?

Hi,

The symbol for least integer function is as follows:

\(\lceil x \rceil\): denotes the least integer greater than or equal to x.

Use following in math-mode:

Quote:
\lceil x \rceil

Thanks.

I am trying to write a response for a Critical Reasoning question, but the explanation could really benefit from a mathematical formula. It appears that mathematical formulas work great in the Quantitative forums, but whenever I type in "\(\mbox{[m]x^2+1}\mbox{[\m]}\)" it it doesn't create the equation in the preview; rather, it displays a weird formula that begins with a "\" and a "(". Is there any way to insert formulas into Verbal explanations?

Works for me.

Could you please tell me in which topic you want to reply with formula and I'll try to help.

Sure! Here is the link:
https://gmatclub.com/forum/in-a-certain ... 51545.html

I have tried putting in mathematical formulas into my replies, using 2 different computers and 3 different browsers. It is acting funny. But I have no problems putting in the exact same equations into replies for other Quantitative questions.

It worked for me: https://gmatclub.com/forum/in-a-certain ... l#p2236901 Not in preview though but it got posted correctly. Could you please try to post a formula there? Thank you.

Fantastic! Thank you, Bunuel! Whenever I post a solution, I always like to preview it, and it scared me a little bit when the preview wouldn't display correctly. (I am a perfectionist, and I didn't want a post of mine to look half-baked.)

After you checked that the formulas would still (eventually) post correctly, this gave me an idea that could work for anyone else who runs into this issue. I opened up a Quant question and wrote my reply in that editor. This allowed me to preview the formulas so I knew they looked good. Then, I just copied the text of that reply into a reply for the original Verbal question I wanted to answer. The math equations still looked terrible when I "previewed" the response, but when I hit "Submit," everything appeared the way it was supposed to be. Mission accomplished.

Bunuel - in the above post, I used mathematical formula in topic name but the same is not getting reflected, though the same reflected in main post.

Topic name does not have formula support, so you should put just a plain text there. Edited. Check now: https://gmatclub.com/forum/if-x-0-is-x-y-369503.html

Hi Bunuel,
How do I give space between words in such expressions as it does not appear in the final text: (Even Integer)^{Any Positive Power}
Final Output: \((Even Integer)^{Any Positive Power}\)?

By including there " \ "

\((Even \ Integer)^{Any \ Positive \ Power}\).
