Anyone else see an interview invite yet? I am guessing they do them once a week because we had them all last Wednesday roll in and nothing since. I am hoping that tomorrow some more people hear something.

Nothing here. Hope you're onto something Dbalks.. I noticed it too, a flurry of interview invites last mid-week, followed by a quiet calm.

I can vouch - the building is looking awesome. Some of us got a hard hat tour a few weeks back, and I am literally seething with jealousy that our class will only be in there for a semester.

Also - the glass in the front is nearly all up. It's really spectacular.

So the class of '15 will have one semester in the old space and then move to the new one? That will be crazy, like in the Wizard of Oz when Dorothy goes from B&W to color... :shock:

I went to a Yale event a couple of days ago and the admin official said that 1/3 - 1/2 of interview invites had been sent out. Anyone (current student or prospective) know anything about this? I'd assume that the admin official would know, but that seems like a really high percentage for only 1 week after the deadline. They said the remainder of invites would "trickle" out.

I cannot believe it. After one week they sent out half of the interview invites? So it means they reviewed the first bunch of applications and although the other 3/4 might be better they sent out 50% of the invites...Does not sound feasible...Or possibly the first applicatons they looked at were just awesome....even if they sort it by GMAT, I am convinced that more than the half of the 750+ guys were not the best

I think you should take some peace in the fact that only 3 people on this board got invites, but there are 100 gmatclub members applying. I would assume we arent too far from average and that about 30% will get invites. That leaves about 27 spots for GMATclub members..

But I guess we should keep in mind half the people here sign up and say they are applying and never report back... If they say half, its probably half, they would know best. But we are still alive, lets not give up hope yet.

regarding the order that the Yale AdCom reads applications, an Admissions Officer told us at an info session that they read applications in random order. And they don't start reading applications for a round until after a round's deadline has passed.

The admissions newsletter that just arrived in my inbox says that 1/3 of invites have already gone out.

Yep, looks like 1/3 of the invites are out.. It sucks so far only 3 GMAT clubbers got invites, but more to come I guess.

I am thinking about unsubscribing from that newsletter so that my heart doesnt skip beats every Thurs afternoon at 4:15.. Next week I will be ready for it.

I'm leaning towards applying. Still worried about the school's weak reputation and small alumni network.

Also, is there any buyside recruiting, especially investment management and hedge funds?

Seriously. I got super excited and then depressed in a 5 second span. Seems like they sent out interview invites last week and then haven't sent anything else out since. No one has mentioned receiving an invite since last Wednesday. You'd think they'd have them all out by the first week of November/last week of October.

....the wait continues.

The worst part of this is, the feeling that I dont know if my application has been read or not yet. I am wondering, have they read it and put it down because it wasnt enticing enough? And the optimistic part of me tells me mine is one of the few apps left still in the pile.

I never really considered myself a control freak, but I guess this kind of makes me one. Now that this is out of my control, I can't sit still

What date did you submit your application? Despite Adcom saying there is no particular order they read applications in, still curious. Also, if you don't mind, can you provide your profile (gmat, gpa, WE etc)?

Hi, I submitted on 4th afternoon. So I dont think they do it first come first serve basis - It looks more random to me. I didnt give GMAT, applied with my old GRE score - 1450/1600.

Working as an Economist for an innovation management firm in Brussels. Did my Engineering at NIT (CS) in India. Lived and Worked in Turkey, France, before moving to Belgium. WE: 48 months till matriculation.
