Hi..

It is easy to make Q but difficult to match the actuals.

This Q does not have any other choice close enough to be an answer.
Such as is used for examples and ONLY D follows that.
In actuals there would be another choice with 'such as' but some other faults.

A. were overshadowed by upstarts like Didi Chuxing, a ride-hailing firm that chased America’s Uber away from China, and Ofo, a bike-sharing startup going global.
Use of LIKE is incorrect. SUCH AS should have been used for quoting examples. Hence Incorrect.

B. were overshadowed by upstarts like Didi Chuxing, a ride-hailing firm which chased America’s Uber away from China, and Ofo, a bike-sharing firm gone global.
Use of LIKE is incorrect. SUCH AS should have been used for quoting examples. THAT should have been used instead of WHICH. Omission of word START-UP and use of verb GONE alters the original intent. Hence Incorrect.

C. were overshadowed because of upstarts like Didi Chuxing, a ride-hailing firm chasing America’s Uber away from China, and Ofo, a bike-sharing startup going global.
Use of LIKE is incorrect. SUCH AS should have been used for quoting examples. Hence Incorrect.

D. were overshadowed by upstarts such as Didi Chuxing, a ride-hailing firm that chased America’s Uber away from China, and Ofo, a bike-sharing startup that is going global.
CORRECT

E. overshadowed by upstarts like Didi Chuxing, a ride-hailing firm that has chased America’s Uber away from China, and Ofo, a bike-sharing startup that is going global.
Use of LIKE is incorrect. SUCH AS should have been used for quoting examples. Simple past should have been used instead of Present perfect. Hence Incorrect.
