I started my GMAT preparation at the start of July with OG, GMAT PREP & MANHATTAN books. Using OG I pointed out my strengths (PS) & weaknesses (SC & CR). In DS & RC I was moderate. So, I went through MANHATTAN books for SC, CR & RC & things did not change significantly. My target score was 700 & GMAT PREP gave me only 630-640. So at the end of July I started reading blogs at GMAT CLUB how to improve. Then I came to know about Aristotle Prep books & ordered them in Amazon. While they took nearly a month to deliver, I continued my research & found out about e-gmat. I joined them immediately on 23rd August in VERBAL ONLINE after using their free trial SC files. First I went for SC & immediately my confidence was boosted. They has made the basics of GMAT English really easy to digest. One more thing needed to be specially mentioned about their SC files is meaning analysis. If you don’t follow that rigorously you are bound to lose some points in SC. Then I went for CR. Their pre-thinking approach first seemed hectic but you’ll have the effects in exam. Then I started using scholarium, a great tool to gauge your progress. I also upgraded to VERBAL LIVE later but did not use that rigorously as the basics were there in VERBAL ONLINE. At the end of September I gave two GMAT PREP exams & it was 700 & 710. So I went for exam on 29th September & voila it was 740. So I will strongly suggest e-gmat to the non-natives. If you don’t have the time to read this long story use the take-away.
Take-away-
1. Make your basics right. E-gmat has made basics super easy to digest
2. Use pre-thinking approach to solve CR
3. Use meaning analysis for SC otherwise you’ll surely loose some points.
4. Use scholarium to measure your progress.
One more thing I’ll add here e-gmat’s support team. They will answer your query as fast as possible. So if verbal is your weakness in GMAT trust e-gmat.

I came to know about e-gmat through gmatClub. As a non-native I have always struggled with SC. Initially, I took Free trial of the course. I have so impressed that I immediately purchased their SC course. Their 3 step approach is the ultimate mantra for GMAT. The course structure design is very comprehensive and easy for a non-native. After going through their SC online course, I felt very confident while doing SC. There are practice questions whose answers are so well explained that you will have a strong hold on the concepts. I also attended the free webinars and believe you learn a lot from them. You can also post doubts on forums and reply is almost instantaneous. I highly recommend everyone to purchase this course.

I got GMAT 620 and then I took the eGMAT verbal Online Course.
The step by step integrated course not only helped me to understand the basics well but also helped me develop necessary skills for GMAT. I completed the course in 20 days and started taking 800 score and GMAT Club tests, which comes free the Verbal Online Course. These mock tests helped me immensely in getting ready for the real GMAT. After that I again wrote the GMAT and then scored 710. My verbal score improved from 27 to 35. I would strongly recommend this course to everyone, especially non natives. Please write to me in case you have any question.

Although I am half way through the videos, But till now It is really helpful; For SC verb-ing and verb-ed modifier was really a big help;
RC is my weak area specially inferences but videos and relevant examples made me to understand the concept and approaches well; And exercises helps to internalise the concept and approach as welll as provide an assessment of how well the concepts are perceived by the aspirant;

I am really thankful to e-gmat for providing me an extention with out a cost; I enrolled this program on 31st march and on 3rd April my mom got 60% burnt in a fire-accident in my home town; Since then I had nothing on my to do list other than my mothers health;
Now I want to gear-up and e-gmat is generous to provide me the required extention.
Thank you e-gmat for not only for all awesome contents but also to provide support (in numerous way) to the aspirant.

GMAT 720 to 750 using e-GMAT Verbal Online (2 week preparation)

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

Improvement 30 Points

Course e-GMAT Online Focused

Dear GMAT club users,

I gave my 1st attempt in May-2015 after 2 week of preparation using OG-2015 and GMAT Prep tests. I scored a score of 720 (Q50 / V38). Then i had to resume my work duties and was extremely busy with work life.

As i was unhappy with my score, and i knew that i had to tackle the Verbal section properly, i decided to get my ESR (Enhanced Score Report) from mba.com to better analyse my weak areas. The ESR was extremely helpful in helping me understand that my weakest area was Sentence Correction, while on the other hand i had a perfect score in RC.

Thus, i decided to take a 2 week vacation and focus all my attention on SC. I enquired with my friends and looked into courseware from many providers. After a day of careful consideration, i decided to go ahead with e-GMATs Verbal online courseware to focus on SC. Best GMAT related decision. Thanks to my friends for this wise advice and thus the reason for this post, to help my fellow GMAT club peers.

Result was a 750 (Q50 / V41) after just 2 weeks of preparation.

Strengths of the courseware:
1) The course is well structured. It ensures that the courseware is presented in a cogent manner. This ensures you don't forget the earlier portions, as you progress with the courseware.

2) I was much more confident in tackling SC questions after completing this coursework. I am sure you would feel the same even in practice tests. Before the start of the courseware, my success rate on SC questions was 50%. After completion of the course, it shot up to 80%.

3) Courseware tackles modifiers very strongly. In my opinion, its the best part of the SC portion in e-GMAT.

4) The articles by Rajat are a must read.

Weaknesses:
1) The courseware in the initial phase seems a bit boring. Ensure that you carry on without losing trust in the courseware. I felt i am going in the wrong direction, in the first two days of the courware. But i was wrong. Be patient.

2) The online videos are good, but some portions/topics need more polishing and better editing.

Overall Rating i would give is 4.5 out of 5.

Thanks e-GMAT.

Regards,
Ekansh.

Hi

Well I couldn't have asked for more. A jump of 100 points from 560 to 660 in my GMAT Score thanks to E-GMAT CR Course.
Flashback GMAT 1 - Feb - 2015
I had put in 2 months of hardwork. in Dec - January and was all set to take GMAT. Exam went on well and I expected to see a 680- 690 on screen, but to my dismay the screen flashed 560 with V-22. I was devastated that how could I be so far from my target score (I had given only 2 mocks - 650,660), took few weeks off and decided to take a structured approach towards GMAT attempt 2. This time I was not in a hurry but I wanted concrete results.
When I introspected I found CR was my biggeset nemesis. This led to low scores in RC too as the pattern and reasoning is similar in RC Questions. I enrolled for EGMAT - CR course and boy I loved the content. All the content was in a structured manner. I could see improvements. With more confidence I started taking kAPLAN mocks in the month of Aug. Two 680s and One 710 . I booked my GMAT date for Sep 20 - 2015.
I ended up scoring 660 with V34. Although not a great score but atleast it has given me my moral back. I specially want to thank E-GMAT and the team. I want to have one more shot at the GMAT and with the renewed confidence I hope I ll break 700 barrier

E-gmat verbal Online is an excellent course especially for non natives like me,The best thing about this course is that you don't get bogged down easliy as you do while reading heavyweight books from MGMAT /KAPLAN ,it has excellent audio visual modules for clearly understanding each and every concept of Gmat Verbal.
Here are my views about the various sections of Verbal online course:
Sentence Correction: I never paid attention towards meaning centric approach to solve SC questions, but this approach is an excellent tool to improve your accuracy levels from 40-50% to 90%.3 step approach immensely to eliminate the errors and pinpoint the correct answer choice.

Critical Reasoning: Pre-thinking is one of the best tools to tackle CR,it takes time to adapt to use this tool but as soon as get used to it,it helps immensely to eliminate the wrong answer choices.

RC: Steps mentioned in verbal online course helps a great deal to come out of the terror of long RC passages,getting immersed in the package and keeping a focused approach helps in making the correct choice in RC section.

In conclusion i would strongly recommend non-native and native speakers of English to try out e-GMAT courses.it would help you more than any other GMAT courses available in the market.Kudos to Rajat and team for making such a comprehensive verbal gmat course.

I took gmat in Nov14 and scored a measly 660 with a score of 31 in verbal section and this was despite covering the SC and CR books of Manhattan. I realized that I knew most of the grammar rules but I lacked in their application, I did not have an appropriate strategy to handle different types of questions. With the aim to improve the strategy part I was looking for an online source that can help me work on my deficiencies. It was at this juncture I came across egmat, I watched some of the free videos that were available and really liked them, I was particularly impressed with the emphasis given to the areas in which non native speakers generally lack and hence I decided to enroll for the course. The course content was comprehensive covering not only most advanced and challenging topics but also providing a solid foundation in basics. Videos covered each topic in detail and practice tests helped in reinforcing the concepts learned. Overall, I found the course to be extremely beneficial as it helped me work on weaknesses and reinforce areas of strength.

Quality content for GMAT SC

After several months of preparation I got a 710 - verbal 38 in my first gmat attempt. However, I had been consistently scoring around 740 in my practice tests. Most of the verbal questions that I would get wrong were the SC questions. I knew I could score better than 38 in verbal. So, I decided to attempt the exam gain. I used magoosh for verbal but the verbal content was not so good and my score did not improve.

As a last resort I enrolled for the SC course in egmat. The training videos were good but the most value for money comes from the questions. These questions could easily be seen on the gmat or atleast it tests the concepts that are tested in the gmat.The course and the questions lay a lot of emphasis on the meaning of the sentences. I would definitely recommend this approach since the meaning is the single most important factor in gmat SC.

Only after changing the way I was solving SC questions, I was able to increase my score. I got a V41 in the actual exam. the increase can definitely be attributed to the egmat SC course.

e-GMAT verbal online is comprehensive collection of study material for SC, CR and RC.

Really liked the overall quality of material. The level of precision that I have acquired in solving SC and CR question is due to the detailed and meticulous approach that e-GMAT recommends.

The core concepts such as pre-thinking and identifying splits are the key to achieving high score on GMAT and that where e-GMAT puts a lot of focus.

Also, the huge question bank is a great asset. The scholanarium is a helpful tool to assess your strengths and weakness.

Though the e-GMAT course is quite lenghty its worth the effort and time.
