test center review

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by membership [?]

nice place, near by metro station is green park. There were a lot of landmarks given so it was easy to locate.
Test Area: is quiet but I felt that the AC was a little too cold for me. Usually I have the AC dialed in at 23F at home The test center was more like 18F. So make sure you come dressed in layers.
The scratch pads are a bit worn out but the staff makes up for it by not expecting you to erase anything. They simply provide you a new one each time you finish one. I would definitely recommend this testing centre .
Notes
They have a water cooler so you might not want to carry a bottle.
You can carry a pull over inside the testing area.
Around 13 people can give the exam simultaneously

Good test center

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

The test center is located at a distance of approximately 200 meters from the Green park Metro station. It was difficult to locate first, but after going around for 15 minutes, I was able to see the small white board with Pearson VUE written over it. It is on the fourth floor of a building near HDFC bank. My appointment was scheduled at 1300 hrs and I reached there at 1220. I was given the entry to the test center at 1235. The staff is polite and helpful. There is only one restroom and a lot of people were taking exams-not only GMAT, but i think Pearson makes the schedules keeping these things in mind. They provided me with noise cancelling headphones-something like the ones used on choppers. Noise can be heard if headphones are not used. The lighting, AC and locker were appropriate. We are supposed to track our break timing ourselves and they didn't allow me to take the break while sitting at the computer.

It was a good experience overall.

Pearson VUE New Delhi(Yusuf Sarai)

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

I have taken the GMAT once at Pearson VUE Yusuf Sarai Center - New Delhi.

- The staff will allow you inside the center only 30 mins before the exam. So, don't reach the center too early . You will probably be exhausted waiting outside or sitting on the staircase. There are frequent traffic jams in the route to the test center.
- No parking space - Finding a parking spot will be a challenge
- Nearby metro station - Green Park Metro Station
- The exam center is on 4th floor .
-The testing room has around 15 computers, each separated in a cubicle. I was given headphones / noise cancellation devices / 2 markers and 1 scratch pad.
-Staff is generally polite. After the AWA and IR, i had a few pages left in my scratchpad. I was given the fresh Scratchpad after the first one was fully completed.
-There is one restroom that is nearby. It is clean and tidy.
- All you need to take with you is your Passport. They will provide you the locker by you must ensure that you keep your mobile phone switched off.
- In the breaks, i was unsure of the time elapsed and the proctors refused to tell me. One of them told me that we should keep a note of time and was rude. I was able to reach my seat n just 4 mins and I has 4 mins remaining. When I asked them not to start the test for another 4 mins, they refused and said you are not allowed to sit idle inside the test room. They started my test in just 4 mins.
- AC was functional and cooling was optimal.
- There was lot of noise during the AWA. Noise insulation in the room could have been better.
- Headphones are provided at the desks. One can also ask for ear plugs.
- This is the best GMAT center in Delhi.
.Also, most of the dates in this center were unavailable a month or two before . I believe, this center conducts a lot of other exams apart from the GMAT. The best way to get a date in this exam center is to book your exam 7-10 days before you want to give the exam. Usually people tend to cancel or postpone their exam when the date is approaching. This helped me get the suitable date and timings.

Pearson VUE New Delhi

I have taken the GMAT twice at Pearson VUE Yusuf Sarai Center - New Delhi.
- The staff will allow you inside the center only 30 mins before the exam. So, don't reach the center too early . You will probably be exhausted waiting outside or sitting on the staircase. There are frequent traffic jams in the route to the test center.
- No parking space - Finding a parking spot will be a challenge
- Nearby metro station - positive
- The exam center is on 4th floor . On my first attempt , the elevator was not functional . So i was forced to take the stairs. Even though i am fit and play sports , i want to avoid any strenuous physical activity before the GMAT .
-The testing room has around 15 computers, each separated in a cubicle. I was given headphones / noise cancellation devices / 2 markers and 1 scratch pad.
-Staff is generally polite. After the AWA and IR, i had a few pages left in my scratchpad. Initially the female proctor refused to give a new pad. She insisted that i finish the remaining 2 pages.
When i begged, she gave me a new scratchpad.
-There is one restroom that is nearby. So, i had to wait for my turn to use it during the breaks. In one of the breaks, the janitor was in the washroom and he was cleaning it at his own pace. Only when i knocked the door a few times, he opened.
- One female test taker was denied admission because her identification proof passport might have expired a few days back. Even though she showed other government approved id proof- PAN card, she was refused admission. She was crying and there was some commotion in the center .I believe the staff could have handled the entire episode in a better way. I believe no fellow test taker will want to go through all this.
- There is a water cooler and lockers are decent.
- In the breaks, i was unsure of the time elapsed and the proctors refused to tell me. One of them told me that we should keep a note of time and was rude. Even though i believe proctors are not required to tell the time remaining, i envy people who got friendly proctors who helped them utilize the full quota of 8 mins .
- AC was functional and cooling was optimal.
- There was lot of noise during the AWA. Noise insulation in the room could have been better.
- Headphones are provided at the desks. One can also ask for ear plugs.
- As far as i have heard, this is the best GMAT center in Delhi.
.Also, most of the dates in this center were unavailable a month or two before . I believe, this center conducts a lot of other exams apart from the GMAT.
- I believe a new Pearson VUE Center will open in Aug 2016 in Noida. Thus, it would be beneficial for people who stay in South /East Delhi or Noida and others who fail to get an appointment in the Yusuf Sarai center because of limited slots .

Hello GMAT Club members,
I took my 2nd attempt at GMAT on 8-Sep-2015 at Pearson Test center in New Delhi. I took my 1st attempt also at the same test center in May-2015. Following are the Pros and Cons that i would like to share, specific to the test center.

Pros:
1) The center is well connected with Delhi Metro, easy to find and is properly marked on Google Maps.
2) If you are traveling by car, parking can be an issue so please come a little earlier, or ask someone to drop you off and then pickup later.
3) Please note that the test center only allows you inside the premises 30 min prior your slot time. If you arrive earlier, if would be advisable to locate a nearby coffee shop or restaurant and sip a coffee and spend your time in an air-conditioned environment, particularly in summer time.
4) The staff at this center is very professional and helpful.
5) They provide earbuds and locker.
6) The lighting is good. AC is ambient and very comfortable, neither too cold nor warm.
7) Computer screen and Mouse are in good condition.
8) The staff responds promptly, whenever you raise your hands. This is very good considering the fact that there are 2 invigilators and 10-12 testing systems.

Cons:
1) There is only one toilet in the premises. This can be a spoiler if more than one individual take their break at the same time. I was lucky both the times that i was alone during my break.
2) During my 1st attempt, a nearby office in the same building was undergoing renovation. On two separate occasions, there was a loud noise of drill bit being used to punch holes. This was ridiculous and broke my concentration. Thankfully, the earbuds helped a little. I had expected this, when a candidate exited just before i was supposed to start by test, and demanded that he be given a suggestion form to lodge an official complaint.
In my 2nd attempt, the renovation in office next doors was already complete, so no external disturbance, phew !! So feel free to opt for this center.

Overall, the center is nice and i would recommend it if you are in New Delhi area.

Regards,
Ekansh.

Apt center to give the exam if giving it in New Delhi

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

I gave my GMAT in July, ’15 and this was second attempt at GMAT, both at the same centre. There a few points about the centre –

Pros:

1. The centre is handled by Pearsons itself and thus the quality of services is good. The staff is very polite and has good knowledge of the processes involved such as identification etc.

2. It is easily accessible via public transport. Sometimes there is traffic as the centre is located in busy community centre, so if the exam is in the afternoon slot, keeping some buffer time would be a good idea.

3. The noise level inside the centre is very low. Apart from occasional horns (that too not very loud) the place is free from external disturbances. There is no disturbance due to external noises. They also provide ear plugs.

4. The lobby is big enough to walk around and relax yourself during breaks. The washroom is clean and well maintained.

5. The environment inside the test room is nice to get your concentration right and your brain running with proper lighting and comfortable AC temperature.

6. Computer screen is large enough to focus, and the keyboard and mouse are new and comfortable to work with

Cons:

1. The centre has about 10 seats per slot. This can cause a little bit of a disturbance if you are among the first 1-2 to be seated because by the time the last test taker is seated you have already started the exam this cause some disturbance. Also during the breaks many test takers come out simultaneously. This by itself is not the problem, but when compared to only one restroom in the facility, it becomes a straight negative. I had to wait for my turn in the first break, and thus got a bit late and lost 2.5 minutes in my quant section.

2. Parking is very difficult to find. It’s a community centre and all the parking is taken up by commercial vehicles. If you can do take a cab, auto or metro. Though if you want to come by car, you can find parking at the metro station nearby (I think its Green Park metro station)

Overall my experience with the centre was between good, if not excellent (Got late due to waiting to go to restroom).

Test Center Review - Pearso VUE, Yusuf Sarai New Delhi

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by post count [?]

I've taken GMAT twice - once at the Dwarka Centre and once at the Yusuf Sarai Center New Delhi. Well, I must say they are exact opposite of each other.

In terms of staff, Pearson Center has really cooperative staff who actually listen to your whims and fantasies.
They have their own washroom unlike the Dwarka EduPro centre where I had to go from 4th to 2nd floor and into a ladies toilet that was actually a flooded common toilet... Yukkk..

Also, Pearson center's test room is sound proof and quite comfy. The PCs are bigger, charis are good and most importantly, the separators from fellow test takers is really good. At EduPro it was like a primitive cyber cafe with not more than a foot high separators... no use.

I was an outstation candidate so cant comment on parking space but the nearby area is good with great connectivity by metro trains.

I would really suggest that whether u have to postpond/prepond your appointment, dont book EduPro centre. Go for Pearson center.

Thanks for reading. All the best.

Gmat Test Center: Dwarka, New Delhi

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by post count [?]

The center is located in Dwarka Sector 23 market and well connected through Metro stations in sector 9 and Sector 21 (little bit closer to this)
It has seating arrangement for 6 people at a time and is more like a Internet cafe. There are lockers available but the overall space is bit congested. Since we have Airport runaways nearby, there are flights taking off and touching down. You also have a school nearby and during afternoon hours you have lot of honking going on as there are buses and cars parked around the market.
There is a toilet which is about 100 meters from the center and you better walk fast to use the same.
Morning slots and evening slots will be better although I have not uses those slots.
Car parking is free and better to park it in complex or back side.

Excellent place, near by metro station is green park. There were a lot of landmarks given so it was easy to locate.

If you are driving then finding parking space can be a daunting task so t better to take metro or auto.

Staff was very professional, made everything clear to me, they also gave me 2 markers and ear plugs without even asking.During the breaks they were quick and they valued my time.

Lockers were large enough and restroom(small) was clean.

Noise level was zero, still i got ear plugs, proper light and AC temperature was comfortable.

The computer was large it was easy to focus, mouse and keyboard were also good.

Yousuf Sarai - Pearson, Great location, Tricky parking and a good test center

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by school email address [?]

The test center as written in all the reviews above is very conveniently located. But I drove down there on my test day and parking was a big issue in the morning. Apparently all the spots in the area are taken up by taxis in the morning until about 9:30 a.m. There's the metro parking just beside the center, but make sure to inform the fellow there that you'll be leaving at 1 p.m. (in case the test is in the morning of course). Otherwise it's impossible to get your car out before 6 in the evening as the parking area gets solidly packed. It is best to use the metro.

The test center staff was very professional and took me through the paces just as the GMAC shows on its videos. The seating is extremely comfortable and the test room was well insulated. Overall a very delightful test experience.

Thanks to the guys there, whose names I couldnt find out - maybe it was my sheer nervousness :P
