I am an award-winning Korean Super Model, the first place of the Korean Super Model Competition in 2003, and I am currently enrolled in MBA program at the MIT Sloan School of Management. I am very glad to share my experiences of hitting Q51 and enter MIT. Just trust Math Revolution and follow what they guide you. You can imagine that I have never had any mathematical background in my life and career.

I worked as a model in mainly Asian countries after winning the award, I continued my career as a model in New York, Los Angeles, Paris, London after moving to New York in 2006. While modeling, I studied in fashion business management in Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), and built my career participating in various marketing projects as a fashion trend analyst in a New York-based fashion company after graduation.

Starting off as a fashion model, I had been building stable career as well as various experiences in fields reaching from marketing to general fashion until I decided to apply for MIT Sloan Management. This is because I felt the need to become more professional in management skills and big data analysis for digital marketing in order to become a professional manager, and MIT Sloan Management is cut out for my roadmap.

However, I felt most pressured by the fact that I had to get a high GMAT score in a short period of time in order to get into Sloan, a school considered top among others. Achieving academic results in GMAT Math after studying briefly was especially more challenging for me since I had always been working in the fields that were qualitative rather than quantitative. I have not solved any single math questions for many many years. Also, I realized that GMAT Math requires not the notions like those of math tests in high school, but solely the mathematical logic.

As studying felt difficult for me, I came to know Max Lee (Math Revolution) who is already too well known among people whose challenge to top MBAs. Ever since then, I have seen many cases where he promised high scores in GMAT Math by guiding people like me to easily solve problems in a completely different way from those of GMAT preps provided by GMAT official guides in the research process.

Although I was not fully convinced at first, I tried “Trial Pack” for the first two weeks and asked questions through e-mail every time there was an answer I was not fully sure about. Math Revolution Team not only gave me quick and clear replies to my questions but also gave me study guides that I could follow. Study guide helped me a lot in studying effectively while keeping my original career in fashion. Among others, it was an earth-shattering experience to go through very unique approaches in solving math problems I have never seen. Especially, Variable approach for DS was very amazing, time-saving and very efficient as if I was opening my eyes to a whole new world. Soon after, there became growing faith in him and I purchased courses offered by him.

The fact that Max Lee not only simply enabled me to better solve problems but also taught me logics to think mathematically was not comparable to any other already existing method. Also, the more I understood the logics of GMAT MATH, the less time it took to solve each problem. Against this backdrop, my scores got higher in a short period of time at a pace that surprised even me.

After studying under the tutelage of Math Revolution, I got in to MIT Sloan School of Management with the score of Q51. GMAT math requires basic math skills but more logical skills

What I truly want to say to every reader of this is that although there are many ways to get a high score such as changing your life style, tailoring your way of approach, and so on, the most important thing is that you must never forget your goals and dreams (‘Why do I need this score?’ ‘what am I studying for?’) and must stay eager to study. This is the shortcut to a higher score.
Your dream can come true if you dream and act.

I hope this helps out a lot, especially those of you who want to get an MBA but do not feel confident enough to challenge because of notorious quant. I support every bit of your challenge.
Again, thanks a lot to Max Lee and his math research team for all the supports.

Hello miss Kim. I was interested in knowing the details of the quant course you took for the gmat. Please also post a link to the quant course if possible. Thanks for the amazing and inspiring review.

Thanks for the query. I receive similar questions here and there. I write this in detail for everyone who wants to know this. I took All-In-One 51 course for 3 months. I followed the instructions very well. I started learning "Math Review" videos to build math basic skills.

After that, I mainly focused on learning Variable approach for DS and IVY approach for PS through DS+PS videos. They are very unique and helped me save significant time in solving problems. Especially, DS was very amazing. It is hard to explain. If you use the Trial Pack at their site. You will understand it better. Just trust their unique theory and approach.

Once I felt comfortable with their approaches, I solved Official Guide and other provided video material using the approaches I learned. Of course, I could not hit Q51 quickly. In fact, I had to stop studying due to very busy work schedule and resumed the study again. I was very surprised that my score have improved to Q45 level in a very short period of time.

Improving from Q45 to Q51 took another two months. I am not a good math solver and could not focus on study without stop due to my job. But, I believe that if any smart students can shorten the period to hit Q50/51 within a month.

I remember Math Revolution offers extra tips and methods to achieve Q51/51 like common mistake types for DS and etc. I don't remember all. I had to learn and absorb the extra techniques for Q50/51.I expected maximum Q50. I finally achieved Q51. I think trusting and following their study guide is the best way to achieve the score you are expecting.
Hope this helps.
Thank You !

Thanks for the reply JayeonKim. Also I would like to ask your help for the verbal part of the gmat. Which course or courses did you take for the verbal ( sentence correction , critical reasoning , reading comprehension) and what was your score on the verbal. Hope to hear from you soon.

It was a bit spontaneous decision for me to prepare for MBA/MPA and take the GMAT - it was the beginning of May and I had absolutely no idea of what GMAT was like. After long hours of web research I found some very positive testimonials about Mr. Lee's Math Course and decided to give it a try. It turned out to be the best decision - his methodology was very precise, logical, and practical. After all it was just the right way to approach these problems (wasn't just a gimmick or cheap set of techniques). After three months of prep I was able to get the score I wanted - 50 for math. I honestly think it would've been possible without Mr. Lee's prep course.

I am glad to say that I could get Q50 in a recent GMAT exam(620: Q50, V23). The reason why I write this review is to give useful information not only to my friends but to all of you.

At the first time when I took GMAT exam, I had pretty groundless confidence in Quantitative section, as I was always good at Mathmatics, so I just reviewed Official Guide 2017. But the result was terrible(Q43). So, I gathered some information through Internet and surrounding people and finally, I was recommended to take a Math Revolution course from my close seniors.
In a nutshell, The course was amazing. I absolutely agree with the idea that the GMAT exam is important to understand the LOGIC and make your own solution based on that LOGIC. If I did not take this course and just kept studying with OG, it would take much time and energy. Thanks to Math Revolution, I could finish study in such a short time. Not only for me but for my study members, all have got improved scores in Quantitative section.

I don’t have any single doubt that you guys will have a good result by taking this course.

On behalf of this review, I am delighted to say thank you for all employees of Math Revolution.

I took my first exam and scored Q50 which was just very amazing. My math was terrible so the score really surprised me, in a very, very good way. (Last time I took the mock-test I got a 33 and there were times when I scored less than 20.). When I first started studying for GMAT, I told myself "Max Lee, a founder of Math Revolution, is the God of GMAT and I will only trust and follow their words." I studied with your videos after work and it was well worth it! I could feel my math improving as it took less and less time to solve each problems. It took me 4-5 hours to finish the first prep paper you gave us which had 37 questions. But my problem solving speed grew exponentially faster. Your Variable approach for DS is really revolutionary in terms of solving problems quickly and easily, and it is big time saving. I highly recommend all students who are preparing for GMAT to take your course. I recommend them to trust their videos and follow their words. The tips you gave us while watching videos were especially useful. To be honest, I feel I have a lot of room for improvement in my math skills. But with your tips I was able to score such a high score.

For example there was one PS question. The logic was simple but the calculation was complicated and would have taken more than 5 minutes. So I boldly passed the question as I learned. Then the next question I got was a Key Question which I could solve in seconds using the methods you taught us. I respect your tremendous amount of experience on GMAT and it would be a fool of anyone to not listen to your teachings. I am grateful that I was able GMAT within such short period of time. I wish them all a very good luck in their future.

Thank you Math Revolution Team !

I took my first exam and scored Q50 which was just very amazing. My math was terrible so the score really surprised me, in a very, very good way. (Last time I took the mock-test I got a 36 and there were times when I scored less than 25.).

Variable approach for DS is really amazing. I could save time significantly by boldly applying Variable approach until question 20. After question 20, learned CMT (Common Mistake Type) should be applied. If I had not known Variable approach, I would not have finished total 37 questions on time.
This approach helped me finish quant exam with 20 min to spare before the exam ends. Don’t doubt. Just trust Variable approach.

I strongly recommend Math Revolution course to anyone who wants fo finish Quant in a short period of time.

I also greatly appreciate great customer services. Special thanks to Jin.

I would like to thank Math Revolution for their All in one 51 course which helped me reach Q51.

I signed up for their course primarily to bring improvement in my DS questions accuracy. Initially, their methods seem a bit weird but when I started to understand the logic behind them and when I solved few questions using the brute force method and their technique, I realized that they have developed those techniques after much research and there is a logic behind them. They are no magic tricks to say the least.

I believe Math Revolution provide questions which are very similarly in difficulty level to what GMAT throws at you unlike few prep companies which provides too tough questions which in my opinion breaks confidence and do not prepare you for the actual GMAT.

I would highly recommend Math Revolution to all who are targeting Q50-51 on actual GMAT. Honestly Q49 will be quite easy with their course and one must target 50-51 with their course in hand.

I chose Math Revolution after taking my first GMAC practice test and realizing I needed most improvement on quant to get the score I wanted. I saw MR had a 5.0 rating so went ahead and bought it.

I actually enjoyed the structure of MR; It has various lectures that are broken down by topic and subject and features the lecturer solving the problems on the screen. I was able to pause, attempt each problem, and review it immediately after.
However, I have two main gripes with MR.

1. It is low quality and NOT up to date like they claim. There are too many spelling errors to count and many of his word problem questions make no sense. It would not be hard to hire a native English speaker to update the program.

2. His questions are way too predictable. After going through the entire program, I am convinced I could pick his problems blindly if they were put in front of me. I also was confused when randomly he would use questions that were outside of the scope tested on GMAT.

Overall, its not a bad product but there are many better resources out there. I would recommend using one of the bigger, more well established companies before choosing MR.
I ended up getting much more out of the other resources I used.

Thanks to Math Revolution, I am finally done with GMAT with 720 (Q50 V38). In less than 2 months, I improved my score from Q44 to Q50! Thank you Math Revolution!

This is my story. After studying for 6 months, I took my GMAT and got 650 (Q44 V35). And since then, I took 2 more tests and my score did not improve at all. I knew what I had to do to improve my verbal but I had no idea how to prepare for quant. So, I went on to look and found Math Revolution.

Math Revolution's unique approach to Quant, namely IVY approach and variable approach changed my game on quant. Although I am not very strong in Quant, the course was easy to understand and fantastically explained. I felt like i was finally ready to hack quant section.

After 1 month, I took another GMAT and received 690 (Q48 V36). In 1 month, I improved my quant score from Q44 to Q48. Realizing that I could do better, I asked for an extension on the course and studied 1 more month.

Finally, on October 21st, I took my last GMAT and boom!
720 showed up! Q50 V38! What a miracle! I could not believe the score I saw on the screen.

To those of you have difficulties in quant, take Math Revolution course. Not to mention the affordable course price, I guarantee you that your score will improve, just as I have.

After reading all the positive reviews here, I thought Math Revolution would be just what I needed. Boy, was I wrong. The Verbal section is easy for me, but I had always struggled with the Quant section and even getting a 45 (a 3 pt improvement) would have been a big boost and would have given me a great score when pared with my verbal. I spent a little over two months going through more or less the entire course.

First off, make sure you understand their guarantee and refund policy. To their credit, when they heard that I didn't do well on the test, they offered to extend my subscription for free. I thought that was a nice gesture.

Some parts of the Math Revolution course were good. The variable approach method is novel and certainly helped me with time management, if not getting the correct answer. Some of the videos explaining problem solutions were good.

Unfortunately... some things were pretty bad. The Math Basics is just poorly done. The person they hired to do those explanations has no ability as a teacher. Various problems throughout were poorly explained. There were numerous errors in the problems/explanations, and twice when I tried to notify them of the error, their customer service tried to tell me it was actually correct! Luckily on those instances I persisted and eventually they admitted their error.

The IVY approach for Problem Solving was, for me at least, not very useful. I think it may be useful for people who are not fluent in English, but a lot of focus is on understanding the question, when I needed help with the actual mathematical steps. In the end, after at least 100 hours, my quant score actually dropped two points. I did the free trial of another program, which I won't mention, and wish I had used that program instead. Math revolution may work for others, but it did not work well for me.

The Math revolution course lives to its hype. Although I fared poorly at my test, I can vouch for its content.

There are ~1000 Qs (excluding the OG ones). I found the content to be particularly helpful in the case of Absolute Value and Integers - not that the other chapters are any worse.

Also, the tricks are very helpful (eg. complementary 2x2 Qs). The important part though is that you must follow their strategy as it is - skip Qs when you are behind time, etc. This is where I flubbed the test, as I was hell bent on cracking every Q that came my way and messed up royally.

Good value for money! Better to take it at the initial stages of preparation.
