GMAT club Quant tests are the best of the lot out there. But I must agree that these tests are a bit more harder than actual GMAT. In these tests you will get many more 700 level questions than in actual GMAT. Also 700 level questions pop up quite early in the tests. But having said that, I must also say that once you get used to the critical thinking required for solving these questions, 700 level questions in actual GMAT seems like a piece of cake. Just to give an example, I have never got more than 42-43 in GMAT club tests in quant. But in GMATPrep I always got 48-49. If not due to my silly mistakes, i would have hit 49-50 i almost all of the GMAT Preps I have given.
Coming to verbal tests, though they are not as GMAT-like as you will get in actual exam, but they are worth a practice. I used these mainly to enhance my time management skills and refine my verbal strategy.
Gmatclub has the best quant questions in market, it served as an eye opener for several questions and also could learn a lot of tricks and concepts just by solving the question. Even i practised all the verbal questions and its helpful. Though not very best in market, the questions still help you in polishing the concepts.
Must is trying the questions in test format as they help you practise with time constraint. Though am unsure about how close is the score prediction algo wrt actual gmat. If someone is not very good at gmat, can skip some 700 level questions
Dear All,
I have used GMAT club test package twice until now, and I must say they are too good for Maths practice. Level of Maths ques is much higher than actual, so its good for practice. If you are scoring 35-37 in Maths tests here, you can definitely hit score of 45-47 in actual exam. English ques. however i found tougher in actual tests than Gmat club verbal tests. Though both the tests are good to increase the speed and gauging the time. The solutions are good with detailed explanation, and separate tests for both verbal and maths helps one focus in a specific area as needed, w/o wasting time on both if not needed. I hope this helps. Good luck!
Cheers,
Saps
GMATClub tests are absolutely sufficient for Quant preparation. Scoring algorithm for Quant CATs is very close to actual GMAT. Question quality and number of challenging questions are more than sufficient.
For the Verbal part, scores may vary considerably. In my opinion, there is room for improvement in Verbal CATs, both in terms of question quality and scoring algorithm. For the CR, some questions have some options that are very close logically. I do not foresee any such situation in real GMAT.
Resembling the actual exam environment is an additional plus cool. I highly recommend anyone who is serious in GMAT preparation.
I've almost completed each of the 25+ GMAT Club tests in Quant. They were incredibly helpful to get my time mgmt. right. Since there are certain types of questions that come over and over again I could see myself improving in those over time. This database of questions has honed my quant skills. I would recommend them to any one who wants to boost their Math score and get that 51. I now also know where I'm weak and through the test analysis have been able to really brush up on those sections. When I finally went back to the OG, I raced through the questions and found them incredibly easy.
I would add this though - I can't really comment about the verbal part. To be honest, I didn't enjoy the few questions I answered. While I personally wouldn't recommend them for the verbal, the quant more than offsets the value of the package. That's the only reason I've rated it at 4 stars instead of 5. For anyone looking to get a score of 50 or 51 in Quant, buy the GMAT club tests
First of all, thanks BB & Team for creating such a great community to help everyone out there in the GMAT world.
I must say that QA Section of GMAT Club Test is really good. Quality of questions and their explanations really helped in scoring 50 in my first attempt. My verified score can be seen under my profile.
But I really feel that explanations in verbal section can be improved further. Many times, when I was looking for the explanation, I saw explanation as "Awkward Construction". Being a non-native English speaker, I need to understand each and every bit of the explanation. I personally feel that the kind of explanation that Bunuel gives for QA questions, Daagh is someone who do the same kind of work in VA.
I would like to thank GMAT CLUB Community which gave me enough encouragement for my next attempt.
Thanks all!
I purchased the Gmat Club Test and found it really helpful.test mode - even though some of these questions are available else where, it's hard to click each link and read questions and answer. these tests provide the questions in a testing situation. lots of practice in quant- most are difficult questions. My weakest math is algebra (I usually plug in numbers), a lot of these questions are high yield (algebra and inequalities) where plugging in numbers won't work Review each and every question and make your own quizzes for the weak areas. After the end of 1500 questions I felt much more confident in Quant . There was a lot of improvement in DS , my weak area as the test covered each and every type of questions .The questions are close in what the actual GMAT asks .It was surely worth every penny spent. Verbal is poor question quality explanations for both QV are shoddy at best. I don't mind the extra practice questions,
I activated a 1 week subscription to the GMAT Club tests and took numerous quizzes and CATs for both verbal and math. The math questions are very well designed; to the extent that they actually teach you shortcuts and many principles which save a lot of time on the real GMAT official exams.
The verbal exams I did not like. The sentence correction questions focus more on the meaning of the sentence and specific verbiage rather than what is correct overall. There is no better way to describe than to compare to official GMAT questions directly. At least I have never come across a question on the GMAT which will have essentially 2 correct answers. The GMAT club test will say one is wrong because it does not like a word in one of them (not a conjunction or alike btw).
All in all, buy these to improve quant. It’s well worth the price.
I began preparing for GMAT by October '17. Back then i was struggling hard in Quant. My average score was hovering around 30-35 for nearly two months.
A friend told me about GMAT tests and I started taking gmat club tests twice in a week. My scores began improving gradually.
I didn't enroll for any other course either online or offline. For Quants I did only general question from GMAT club and took test regularly.
I took my GMAT on April 4th and I scored 48 in quants.
It was a pretty improvement for me from 30 to 48.
Though I'm preparing to retake since my verbal needs further improvement, still i would prefer these tests.
These tests will let you know where you need more efforts to put in. Number properties questions will eventually boost your scores. I found many questions which added significant parts to my preparation.
These questions are bit harder than what you will face on the D day. Practising these will make you feel more confident.
A great resource to supplement studying. Quant section is especially helpful as I feel it more similarly simulates the real GMAT as compared to the Verbal section. My only critique would be that GMAT Club places more emphasis on Probability/Combinatorics in low level questions than the actual GMAT, at least in my experience. Very active member forum - this is also really helpful in understanding different explanations to problems as you never know which one sticks best with you. Also like the section at the bottom where it shows "similar problems", allowing you to practice the concept at hand in more depth.
What scores did you get when you gave the GMATclub tests? Also, were you able to complete them on time ?
