Quant great, Verbal not so great

QUANT TESTS REVIEW
Whats good - The questions set
1.The quant tests are very good. These tests are closer to GMAT official format than any other CATS I have tried for ex- Manhattan CATS, economist GMAT, Veritas Prep. The questions mimic the the actual official qs very closely.

What could be improved - The algorithm for the CAT. Though questions are very good and very close to real official qs, the algorithm is not very close to GMAT prep. The type or topic of qs thrown one after another are many times same which is not the case with GMAT prep. Also the order of difficulty of qs is also off from real test.

Overall Verdict - One of the best question banks with comprehensive coverage of topics for honing quant skills. Works extremely well for practice but not as well if taken as CAT for indication on score.
VERBAL TEST REVIEW
I would say though ok not so good. The questions quality is not apar with other available mock CATS from other companies especially in SC and CR. RC is ok.
Verbal CATS is really an area where there is need gap for CAT or question banks which are closer to official GMAT prep qs.None of available CATS form prep companies are able to fulfill this need. Same is with gmatclub verbal tests.
Sometimes, the answer for few qs especially in CR is debatable.
The algorithm is also really off in verbal. Even after string of correct 600 level qs, the test was not giving 700 level qs.
Overall Verdict for verbal - Its ok but no where close the quality of questions in quant tests.

SUMMARY of review :
Gmatclub is rightly known for quant questions quality and is worth the dollars spent. Verbal Tests quality has much scope for improvement. I would strongly recommend the gmatclub to take up it as challenge and fulfuill the need gap of really good verbal CAT or atleast questions set which mimics the offical one.

My feedback with suggestions for club test

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by membership [?]

I like the question bank available on gmat club test. It has a good mixture of all types of questions. The way we can organize test questions is unique compared to other test. GMAT club test provide many options to choose the questions from a particular topic and also of varying difficulty level. The strongest advantage of the club test I could analyse over other available tests is the link for discussion with every question. I like it very much because many of the enthusiasts are using it to put their question and I find at-least one of them replicating my thoughts. Also so many queries are being answered in that link, that it helps me to understand the problem thoroughly.

I have given my GMAT so would try to give some feedback regarding the accuracy of test scores. This is just a feedback and not any decision from my side. For quantitative section i found my score in actual GMAT better than the score I used to achieve in club test. The average difference was about 3-4 points. I used to score better in quant during practice with other practice tests also than what I used to score in club test. Regarding Verbal this is reverse. I used to score better in club test but I did not receive similar result in my actual GMAT test. The average difference was about 3-5 points. With respect to other practice test I used, club tests results were almost same for me. As a whole I believe the accuracy of club test is good.

Regarding what can you improve. I tend to see that I make mistakes most of the time because of not focusing on the question, specifically on each words and hence end up in making silly mistakes. This could be due to time pressure. I feel in the solution section if club test can also highlight such important words in the question which the test giver should focus, it will help test givers to make it his habit ,every time, to focus in similar way for all the questions. This attempt may very depending on the question requirement.
Second point. For the solution section if you can provide a structured approach to reach the solution. I especially struggle in the verbal section and usually lost in finding the errors. A structured approach will help me to start attempting the question in particular manner because of which I should definitely find the correct answer. This type of answering approach I could find with eGMAT.
Third Point. Just as an added portion with in the solution section, you can also have links to understand the theory part of the subject. Usually if i don't know the theory I go to google and read it there. Although I found that GMAT club itself has a good resource for every topic but searching it looks difficult to me sometimes.
Above presented points are just my views. I hope it helps you. You are doing a great job. Best of wishes.

Very good set of questions for a overall practice

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by membership [?]

the questions are really of very high standard.
it has all type and difficulty of questions.
the flexibility to reset and create quizzes are really helpful.
Gives a very good platform to have a nice revise.
more verbal questions can be included in quizzes. there is sufficient quants. only revisisng the quants would be more than enough for the test.
If more verbal can be included then it would be great.if atleaset 200 questions of good quality of verbal would be added then there is no need of any other practice tests i guess.Overall a very good product in a good price.

keep up the good work.

Gmat Club test review

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by membership [?]

GMAT club test questions are very helpful. The quizzes will help in improving speed and accuracy. Definitely worthy of its price

its score estimations seems to be very STRICT.. which gives me real good indication of real GMAT exam result

and finally i m done with 100 words

Gmat tests are amazing for the quant. I have already given Gmat twice but this time i am preparing with Gmatclub quant test exclusively. It does spin your head and all other prep material now seems very naive to me tbh.
All i am doing this time is bunuels special question sets and Gmatclub.

Very Close to GMAT

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by post count [?]

Hi every one, I have been preparing GMAT for long. I wrote My GMAT on 10-Jun-2016 . I have been scoring close to 700 or above and was confident that I will definitely score above 700 in real exam. Initially I took first test on GPREP and scored Q48. GMAT Club tests are the one which increased my q48 to q50. As I was running short of time and could not complete all GMAT tests but I am happy that i was able to score Q50 . Although questions in the GMAT Club tests are a little bit tougher than real GMAT but over all a very good material for practice. I would not rate these tests as 5/5 coz there is always a place for improvement. yes I would love to rate these tests as 4.5/test. My Final score in GMAT real exam is Q50 V26 (Final score 600) which is very close to prediction by GMAT CLub test. Now I am planning to write again GMAT and think that these tests are best indicator of my score
Thanks BB and team
regards
Sandeep Sharma

Very Useful Tests

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by membership [?]

Gmatclub test has great collection of questions and wonderful explanations. Sectional tests help you build and boost confidence in the area you want to improve more on the real test. People who are done with the basic concepts can also use these test to build further concepts on the subject matter. Questions on the GMAT club test are very close to the questions on the real test. One suggestion to the test makers is that please add some more verbal tests so that Non natives can get advantage of practicing with greater number of questions. Thank you much GMAT Club.

Quant tests are excellent and definitely worth it

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

The gmat club quant tests definitely helped improve my quant score. Would highly recommend it to any aspiring test taker.
Take the tests and review your answers .Over the course of 28 tests ,you will definitely see improvement in your quant score. While the quant tests are a little difficult ,do not be discouraged as it will only help sharpen your skills.

The verbal tests were on the easier end but the scoring is difficult so if you get a higher score on the verbal tests, that does mean that you will get a good score on the verbal section.

I have purchased the tests on multiple occasions as I attempted to retake the test.

GMAT Club Test- Smart and Flexible

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by membership [?]

I got to know about GMAT Club test 6 months ago when I registered e-GMAT courses. While e-GMAT provides me basic theory, GMAT Club test is the best ever practice tool for me. I love the way I can customize the quizzes focusing on my weakness. The analysis after test or quiz help me to improve my time management, I found out that I spend much more time on wrong answers so I practiced being determined when moving to the next question after 2.5 minutes. The tool of filtering wrong ones and build another quiz give me another chance to rethink, that help me to remember deeply the problem. Math is my weakness and I got about Q32 at first days I prepared for GMAT. Thanks to GMAT Club test, I improved my quant score to Q44 and I plan to keep practicing to break the score in next few month with this very friendly and useful tool.

Tests are Quite Good

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by score report [?]

Hi,
I purchased the GMAT Club Tests and started to use them. I would share my views.
1. Quants:
Pros: The questions are quite good and challenging, especially they check your number theory ability in depth. What makes these questions interesting is the variety of small concepts integrated in one question. Also in the tests the variety of questions from all topics could easily be found. Although some people have mentioned that GMAT Quant is tougher than real GMAT's. The answer is yes, little bit, but again that depends on various factors. Overall the tests are good.

Cons: How they score you might some times not reflect your actual performance. I mean I have solved more or less the same types of questions in two different tests and end up getting two very different scores.

Verbal:
To be honest, nothing in the market can match the GMAT Prep verbal standards. So no point in discussing.

Overall good for Quants.

Excellent Quant - Debatable Verbal

REVIEWER IDENTITY VERIFIED by post count [?]

I have the privilege to try all 6-7 full Quant +Verbal Tests in GmatClub Test. Few notes are:

1. General:

- You don't have the AWA & IR section to have full experience like GMAC or other tests.
- Questions type are mixed up between 500-700 even if you hit 700+ level, which I felt quite similar to the real test
- There are still few minor glitches with uncompleted question, not highlighted words (even in the question stem said so), in consistent in answers (most without letter but some with A, B, C, D...)
- Plus point for explanation of each question and with forum link where we can find more detail and understanding of questions.
- Good statistics on each question: sometimes I felt it's cool to know how many percent of people make the same choice as me.

2. Quant

- Pros: excellent questions pool, many types of question, great trick and trap, some really got me surprise. Very detail explanation and easier to follow (with forum as well)

- Cons: Not any particular, overall I'm quite satisfied with the Quant session
(P/s: in the last few try, my Quant in Gmat club around 50-51 but in the real test I scored only Q49 :( )

2- Verbal

- Pros: good mix of question, 6 tests for you to try, I think it's a substantial amount for practice; some familiar questions were put under different perspectives which gives me good understanding of the whole point.

- Cons: some questions are debatable (even in the forum); my last 2 verbal tests were all with CR & SC - not a single passage on RC at all. I think the logic behind may have some issue here.

Hope that'll help.
HL
